One very large, private site, plenty of room for a large group. All yours, no sharing. Pet friendly! Private porta john, cleaned weekly. No electric or hook ups, Generators welcomed. Amazing tent/ small camper site. Level ground, private boat dock and boat landing! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, floating, canoeing, paddle boarding. Enjoy the beautiful sunrises, sunsets and wildlife. Firewood available for $30. per tractor bucket load, of 1/2 for $20. 15 minutes from Virginia Tech and RU. Great place for a tailgate before a game. Train comes by occasionally, but no whistle, private crossing.ONE very large private site!! Dog Friendly! Very very private, lots of shade on level ground. On the bank of The New River. 15 minutes from Virginia Tech. This spot also offers a boat dock, as well as a boat landing., Fire pit, charcoal grill, outhouse! Great fishing! Enjoy the peaceful sounds of wildlife. Watch for Eagles! Relax around the campfire. Last minute bookings……. NO PROBLEM! Paradise Great place for a tailgate before a football game. Pull your vehicles right up to the campsite! Private railroad crossing, trains come by occasionally, No train whistle! The New River is quite lazy, allows for fun floating, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, you name it!

Jennifer’s land was the perfect spot for our visit to Blacksburg! Only 15 min from campus and great places to eat. The property is well kept and overlooks the New River providing great views and a beach for kids, dogs, and adults alike to play!

Most beautiful river's edge site!
By far one of the nicest places we have ever camped at in over 25 years of experiences! Cannot accurately describe how beautiful property was and was so full of wildlife. Our hosts, Jennifer and Ronnie were some of the nicest people we have ever met! We were lucky enough to visit while they were harvesting some of their garden. They graciously shared a bunch of their veggies. Ronnie was right, best corn we ever had in our life! We had total privacy while camping directly on river. So much room to set up camp as you like. We saw so many deer, otters, mink, osprey, herons and noisey ass geese! We stayed for 6 nights and it went by way too fast! We enjoyed spending most of our time hanging out at property, fishing and spending hours along bank and on your very own private dock, enjoying so many great views all around. Although we traveled from Florida just to camp and visit this area, it was well worth the trip and we will be back again. Can't recommend this hipcamp site enough! Thanks again Jennifer & Ronnie for the memories and we look forward to seeing you again!

Best hipcamp
What a great place to camp! Everything was clean and better than even expected for us. The only thing better than the beautiful place on the river is the host themselves. Great folks good times! Hope to be back soon.

Relaxing River Camp
This is just the kind of relaxed, clean, private and beautiful campsite that I seek out for my trips! The setup is thoughtful with picnic table and campsite by the river with grills, fire pit, lantern hanger and prep tables adjacent! The dock is perfect for tying your canoe and swimming, but you do need to be mindful of the current and actively swim to keep close-great exercise! Peaceful, quiet except for the train rattling through at times, which to me is complementary to rural mountains and riversides. Several polite bass boats putter through quietly fishing, great blue herons, wild geese, osprey and a frisky band of river otters playing near the banks at dusk. The only other thing you need is a kind responsive hipcamp host like Jennifer. Thank you Jennifer!

Jennifer was a great host. The site was amazing and the accommodations are so nice. I had a great time and highly recommend this site!

A Great Escape!
We loved staying on Jennifer’s property! It was calm, quiet, and truly the perfect escape. We loved having access to the river and spent most of our time by the water. Our pup loved it too! The outhouse was incredibly clean and super convenient. It was also great to multiple options for cooking and a fire pit. Trains do go by often but didn’t bother us. They may frighten a more anxious dog! The host’s house is within view of the campsite but they gave us complete privacy the whole time we were there! A pretty heavy storm came through our second night there but we were still able to sleep in our tent and use the campsite the following morning. Truly a great stay with great hosts. We can’t wait to go back!
