All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
Our 65 acre farm is secluded and peaceful. We have a small pond with catfish, bluegill, large mouth bass (catch and release only) and a gentle creek. We have chickens, sheep, a pig, cows and diary goats. Enjoy a walk down to the pond and take a picture by the old farm house (from the early 1800's) or explore history in the cemetery. You could also take the kids for a hike in the forest and search for mushrooms. At the end of the day you can kick back by the fire pit, stargaze and make some s'mores. Our cabin (converted shed) offers a queen size bed and a sofa sleeper, fire pit, charcoal BBQ, AC/HEAT, keurig coffee pot, Wood chip toilet and privacy! Farm experience tour available upon request by appointment. We also have an RV hookup with family campers about 100yds from the cabin. We have Farm fresh non gmo pasture raised eggs available ($5 dozen)  Small pond, fishing okay (catch and release only must pinch barbs), Gentle creek to splash,  explore Old cemetery, ask about our farm experience tours ( by appointment), Kayaking near by, Stargazing, Country living at its finest! The Small town of Altavista is just 25 min. with restaurants, fuel, food lion and a walmart. We look forward to hosting you!

nice rustic place
With kids
the cabin was as described, we were 5. 2 adults in the bed and the 3 kids in the sofa bed . We have appreciated the compost toilet so much better than the chemicals. Unfortunatly our youngest son was sick so we did not enjoy the night :( . it was nice to see a cow by the window on the morning and to take our breakfast outside with the goats.

We loved our stay on Sheila’s farm! The shed was fixed up to be so adorable and it had everything we needed! Sheila and her family were superb hosts. She brought us extra firewood when we needed it and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy and having air conditioning made for a wonderful nights sleep. We loved everything about our stay!!!

Everything was exactly as the listing portrayed in description and pictures. Sheila and her family were wonderful hosts and very gracious to allow us freedom to explore their property and visit with their many animals. Highly recommend!!!
