Pitch your tent or camper near our picturesque dam with 3 jetties, a boat shed and walking track along dam. Throw in a line to catch a silver perch, bass or get the kids to catch some yabbies, they are great cooked up with chilli & garlic. Our property joins onto the Neerim East State Park for those walking enthusiasts or we can accommodate your horse in our yards should you want to explore the bush with many tracks directly from the property. We offer drinking water & toilet accessed from house. Neerim South is home to many wildlife and expect to see many bird species, kangaroos, deer and the odd wombat trailing through. Chris & I are campers ourselves, so we know how nice it is to have a quiet and private spot all to ourselves, however before long you have people on top of you at caravan parks or at free camping you may experience the doof doof music until god knows what hour. So we offer exclusive private campsite all to your self, we only book one group at a time. Neerim South is home to many wildlife and expect to see many bird species, kangaroos, deer and the odd wombat trailing through. FIRE PLAN In the event of high fire danger periods our campers may be asked to evacuate the property for their safety. Instructions will be provided prior. In the event of fires in surrounding areas, it may be necessary to cancel a future booking and or evacuate the site at short notice, this will be reimbursed by Hipcamps. Campers will be notified in the event of total fire bans, this mean no outside fires.FIRE PLAN As our property is in a fire prone area, we may be required to cancel future bookings according to advice from VIC Emergency. Current campers may also be required to evacuate in accordance from advice and as such a full refund will be provided through the Hipcamps booking process. Beautiful spot 10/10

It was a beautiful and peaceful spot. Sue and Chris were there to help us settle in to the camping space. It is really nice that it is only one site, so you have the whole space to yourself. Bird song, the waters of the dam, the walls around the property. It’s a magical spot. We appreciated the complimentary eggs, chilli jam and strawberry jam. 10/10 camping trip. Thank you 🙏.

Amazing spot!

Whispering gums is an amazing spot for a group or two. The kitchen sink and picnic table made dinners and lunches nice and easy. The creek provides a lovely scenery for you to sit back and enjoy your surroundings. Highly recommended!

Whispering Gums

Susan and her husband were so accomodating for us and our children. The campground is perfect with the cabin especially helping during the poor weather. Definitely would book again.

Whispering Gums

The site at Whispering Gums is exceptional. This scenic space lends itself to a relaxing stay surprising you and your family with different settings as the day moves from early morning mist on the lake to superb sunsets with light streaming through the gums. Highly recommended…. Be sure to ask about Chris’ chilli jam…. It will make your stay. We will be back.

Camping amongst the gums

We had a lovely stay at Whispering Gums! It is such a stunning setting on the dam surrounded by rolling hills. Chris greeted us and made sure that we were comfortably set up. He and Susan have definitely done a fabulous job of providing for campers needs. Every night was spent around the fire pit and much use was made of the hot plate. The hut contained lots of other equipment that you are welcome to use. As has already been noted by other campers, there is a shortage of flat area for tents. This was made up for by the great location and facilities. Efforts have already been made to rectify this. We are definitely keen to return in the future.
