Whether it be on the banks of the glorious Ovens River, or situated on the blocks unique billabong. This property boasts both excitement and practicality- located just minutes from Wangaratta CBD, whilst still being secluded like you’re miles away from anything. Light a fire in your sites very own fire pit and bring your furry friends! All dogs are welcome provided you clean up after them, and they are well behaved as there are cattle on neighbouring properties (and sometimes ours), so please restrain if likely to cause trouble The ovens river is the perfect versatile adventure playground whether you’re throwing in a line, kayaking down the stream or just sun bathing in a floaty - Camp Ovens has it all

Great site, close to town.

King of the North the Ovens River

Peter was a generous and lovely host. The site was great: mature trees, grassy and green, great little path to the river on your doorstep. It seemed the most private site, away from other sites. We went when the river was at its lowest, which meant locals could easily access the campsite riverbank. So, not entirely private for skinny dipping, but still a really great campsite! Would recommend.

On The Billabong

The billabong was tranquil and quiet ,the other sites were looked great too ,especially the beach .very relaxing fishing and soaking up the bush surroundings.A short walk to town to enjoy Wangaratta .would recommend . Bryan.

Piper 2

Great campsite close to town, though it feels like you are out bush. Piper 2 does not have safe access to the ovens river. Peter very kindly let us camp at a different campsite with river access, this was greatly appreciated as our stay was in 30-40 degree heat. We had a wonderful time at camp ovens and will come back again.

Great Location & Host

Great location and communication from host, Peter. It was only a short stay, 4 nights where we managed to catch 7 cod right next to camp, all released back in.
