Located at the end of a dirt road, quiet with views of Killington/Pico and Salt Ash Mountain. Its a 15 min drive from Okemo/Ludlow, 10min drive from the Appalachain trail (7.9 mile walk). Our 7 acres sits on the Northside of Belmont hill. Half of it is open with several gardens to meander through. There is a pergola filled with kiwis and wisteria and a hammock for lounging. A shady grape arbor filled with white grapes that we have made wine with. On property we have a tree fort, greenhouse, and chicken coop and provide fresh eggs for sale.Located on the side of a mountain at about 1600ft, We offer a full valley of the backside of Killington, Pico, and Salt Ash Mtns. We are about 7 miles from the Long trail and in the opposite direction, Okemo, Buttermilk Falls, and a series of lakes. Just 2 miles up the road is Star Lake and the quaint town of Belmont. We have several Gardens and a large Greenhouse, a medium pond in the back for swimming, a large fire pit for fires and cooking. The Hip Camp offers 3 season shelter with solar light. There is a hammock that can be hung inside or taken down for additional room. You can fit a queen size air mattress in there or several cots (3 cots are available for $5 each). There is room to place a tent outside so this site can host up to 10 guests. Cider Days In Oct is Belmont's biggest event, but we are also known for our notable holiday firework displays at Star Lake. The last photo is a 20 yr old Ariel photo with locations (a lot has changed but it does the trick). The Heart Is Camp Site #2 and The Sun is the hip Shack option, The Lightning Bolt is Parking and the Smiley Face is a tree fort Option Coming Summer 2024.

Hip Shack
Backyard Camping at the Hipshack
We spent a lovely night at the Hipshack and felt cozy and comfortable even during some unexpected evening rainstorms. Our host Andrea was super welcoming and gave us a tour of the very fruitful property, sharing fresh tomatoes, walking us through the greenhouse and showing us the nearby fort and pond. The shack has a picnic table, an interior light, and a full mattress bed that can sleep 2 with space to pitch a tent. There is a composting toilet and a solar outdoor shower but no immediate running water access. In addition there is a pond where you can swim, a large fire pit, and a walking trail. I thought this was a great glamping experience with very accommodating hosts. I would note that the Hipshack is about a stone's throw from the hosts home so it was a little less private than other Hipcamp experiences. I would also note that you are camped beside the chicken coop with a rooster so I would recommend earplugs if you want to sleep in.

Hip Shack
So the host was super nice and extremely considerate. We stayed in the shack since there was snow on the ground. Its was night time and extremely foggy when we arrived so we where a little on edge at first but they are some of the nicest ppl ive ever met. Definitely made us feel safe and comfortable.

Friendly Family
I had a great stay here. They provided a nice place to pitch my tent and a bathroom with a warm shower. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Beautiful Scenery
The land is absolutely beautiful. And the family who lives in the house on the property is super friendly and accommodating. The surrounding area is a bit remote. Right up my alley. They have a hydroponics store, a gas station, and 1 or 2 restaurants within a few mins of their property but if you want fast food or a bigger store you'll have to drive about 20 to 30 mins to the next town. The view is amazing on their property. They have a building that is included in your stay or you can set up a tent. There's plenty of hiking areas around there as well. I highly recommend this property.
