Shaker Mountain Refuge sits on 300, mostly wooded acres at the foot of the Green Mountains. With outstanding views of Camel's Hump (Vermont's second tallest peak), the refuge is a wonderful place to sit back, relax and enjoy the natural world. There are numerous hiking trails on site, as well as a beautiful swimming pond. Access to Camels Hump hiking trails is a short drive away. Nearby, Camels Hump Nordic ski and bike center boasts incredible mountain biking and nordic ski trails. Just down the hill, the Huntington River has an abundance of swimming holes and fishing spots. Just over the Appalachian Gap are the Mad River Glen and Sugarbush ski resorts. There are many excellent restaurants within a 20 minute drive.

Conifer Cabin
Charming, Restful, Beautiful!
We had the best time on a rustic autumn glamping trip to Vermont! Medora’s conifer cabin has anything and everything you would be looking for out of a cozy New England fall trip. The pullout couch and lofted bed made it possible for 3 of us to easily fit. Plates, bowls, mugs, silverware, extra pillows/blankets/comforters made our stay so comfortable and easy. 2 space heaters inside the cabin keep it nice and warm. Blackstone grill on the porch was perfect for pancakes, fajitas, and smashburgers - propane already hooked up and easy to use! Would recommend visiting Camel’s Hump State Park if you’re interested in hiking with sprawling views. Medora was easy to reach and very responsive!

Coyote Lean-to
100/10 would recommend
I recently stayed at this beautiful campsite, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The property was absolutely gorgeous, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere that made it the perfect getaway. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the host was fantastic—friendly and a pleasure to chat with. Core memories (and instagram worthy moments) were definitely made here, and I can’t recommend this place enough to anyone looking for a special glamping experience!

Accommodating and a Fantastic View
This was a lovely place to stay! Medora was very kind in communicating the weather for our stay and making sure we had enough blankets for a colder night. An absolutely fantastic view out of the lean-to, we had a really nice sunset over the fall Vermont colors, got to see the moon rise over the mountains, and such a pretty pink sunrise! Firewood is provided and the space is so cute with the lights outside the lean-to. Good distance from Burlington, Stowe, and other towns in the area. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The view from the Coyote is astounding in the fall and I am sure year-round. The pond is lovely and we wished it was a bit warmer for a swim. While off the beaten path the location is close to several small towns for needs. The host provides a list of nearby restaurants etc. For early October there was a chill to the air but we stayed comfy and cozy with the fire. Along with additional comforters provided by the host. Bathroom facilities were clean, functional, and easy to locate in the dark! The night sky here is also incredible.

Conifer Cabin
Beautiful, serene, cabin with amazing views-day and night. It is definitely rustic, but Medora goes out of her way to be as helpful as possible. She lent us towels for the pond and anything else we asked for. It was absolutely lovely!
