Ross's campsite offers a cozy and inviting escape, set on beautiful land with a serene pond. The renovated van and cabin provide comfortable accommodations, complete with clean sheets, electricity, and charming touches like string lights and a mini dining spot. Guests appreciate the privacy, stunning night skies, and the option to enjoy activities like hiking and stargazing. While some guests note minor challenges, such as the steep hill to the cabin or finicky propane heater, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with Ross being a helpful and welcoming host.
I loved Ross’s cabin and loved being so immersed in nature and getting to see the foliage. The cabin is very pretty and well kept. Definitely will be coming back in the summer!! :)
Ross has a great location right by a pond. Free firewood and easy access. There is a steep hill to get up the cabin and if it’s raining it gets a little tricky. The cabin is immaculate inside. It’s almost funny looking at the unfinished outside, and walking into a Finished Cape house. Running non-portable water with electricity. There are some outlets that you can use.
Overall a good location. Its about 1000 foot walk from the car to cabin and up a hill with a little path. When we went it was very wet (expected)
The cabin was a cute setup that was a nice break from setting up the tent. Its definitely enough room for two and the bed was comfortable and we loved the pond view.
a few cons
There is a finicky propane heater that you need to turn off before you go to bed, due to it not being vented.
The door didn't have a good latching system and also had a decent gap between the door and the frame. Nothing to worry about when it came to critters, but mosquitos did get in.
The mini deck to get to the cabin was very very slippery and not the sturdiest situation.
Staying at Plumbroke Farm for a weekend was a wonderful get away.. The cabin had rustic charm and was very clean. Ross was a wonderful host. He was quick to answer our questions and responded promptly when we had problems starting the propane heater. We were looking for a weekend in the woods, a quiet retreat, and that is what we found in the cabin at Plumbroke Farm .
Had a great stay at the Plumbroke cabin! Ross was very friendly in accommodating our last minute booking even though we arrived late. The cabin interior met all our needs, there were two small personal fans and the bed was actually really comfy! The electricity lasted through the night and the outhouse was clean and not too far. There was ample space to add a sleeping bag or two as well. I will say the entrance platform is a steep step for anyone with limited mobility concerns- not a big problem, I'm just short and overpack! Would definitely stay again.
