Camping at Misty Mountain Farm offers a unique experience amidst friendly farm animals and a welcoming family. While the site is picturesque, with stunning morning mist and ample opportunity for stargazing, it's important to note the proximity to farm activities and neighboring tiny homes, which may affect privacy. Many appreciate the well-maintained amenities, including a tent platform, fire pit, and outdoor shower, though firewood availability can be inconsistent. Navigating the site might be challenging due to limited phone service and tricky directions, but the charm of interacting with goats, sheep, and even a friendly turkey is often a highlight for visitors.

Tent
It was a nice enough simple place with a friendly host and cute farm animals. It was up a dirt road. There wasn’t firewood even though it was advertised.

Tent
Hard to find, but the neighbors were glad to help get us to the right spot. No service for miles. Lovely friendly goats that didn't smell as bad as expected.

Sheep and goats and a friendly dog.
Tent
This is a cute litt farm campsite. There’s a wooden deck to pitch a tent on, which was handy in the rain. It’s not a private site at all, so there that, but I enjoyed the sheep and goat neighbors, as well as the passing turkeys. It’s a little tricky to find (Google is not entirely reliable here), but it’s nevertheless a nice base from which to explore the area. Be prepared to throw a tennis ball for the dog.

Exactly what we needed
Group trip
We had an amazing time here. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. Our son played with the goats and loved all of the animals. The area has great hikes, and more than a few perfect water holes in the local rivers to explore. We are definitely coming back.
