The beautiful Weathersfield meeting house is our neighbor as you drive in. Fall is just around the corner and cooler weather, book now before it’s too late. Dogs, we have inherited a dog that is not fond of other dogs. If you are coming to the pond or just walking by please let us know so we can make sure our dog is inside. Phone numbers on the wall of the cabin. The road has gotten quite rough with all the wet weather. 4wd with ground clearance is recommended. Green Mountain Retreat
So charming and relaxing!!
I've stayed here several times over the last few years, and it's magnificent every time. It's such a cozy and comfortable place with so many charming details. It's not fancy and it's a very down to earth cabin stay, but it is my favorite cool and cold weather cabin in all of New England. The views are exquisite, the surrounding area is gorgeous with great outdoor options, and the local food is great. Most of all I love just relaxing in the gorgeous scenery, whether it's sun, rain or snow. My dogs love it too!

I got lucky to stay here after a last minute cancellation on Columbus Day weekend. The cabin and property are amazing. Since it was my first solo camping experience with just a dog I really wanted to feel safe and comfortable and John and Patty really made me feel that way. highly recommend staying here the view is amazing.

Peaceful cabin experience
This was our second visit here. We loved it both times. The views are beautiful. The space is very private and there is pretty much everything you would need in the cabin. We typically tent camp with 2 young children so sleeping on comfortable mattresses were a plus for us. Wellwood orchard is just a few miles away and was fantastic. We hope to visit again!

Great view & location, sweet cabin!
What a great spot! The view is amazing and you're really close to so much! We were regulars at Butcher & Pantry, hiked Ascutney and another small trail nearby, and did quite a bit of sightseeing. Each night we cooked on the fire and enjoyed the view and privacy. The cabin was clean, and though it was rustic, the owners have put a lot of thought and effort into adding some sweet amenities to make it an easy 'rustic' stay. A solar panel offers fans and some lighting. The mattresses were actually comfy (unheard of!). Games, candleholders, and general supplies were ready and available. Wood is available for the woodstove or for the firepit (if needed, there's tons of deadwood around to use as well). The outhouse is set up well, clean, and comfortable as outhouses go. Instructions and tips were posted around the cabin in a friendly and clear manner. And the owners were around and available but not intrusive at all. In fact, I never met them...my brother did when he was grabbing wood from the firepit pile - they were kind and we felt they were available if we needed anything. Also, I brought my reactive-to-other-dogs dog and the owners were super understanding, which is always appreciated.
