This land has been in our family for four generations to graze our herd of sheep. We renovated our camps to provide a comfortable glamping space to those who want a one of a kind experience in the backcountry. One of our best features is the solitude and exposure to Mother Nature. Here, you won't find quiet hours, disruptive campers, or noise & light pollution. These sites provide the ultimate experience for those willing to go off the grid, off the main road, & into the backcountry. This space is where the tourist crowds disappear & the rugged, raw beauty appears. As the crow flies, the property is just over three miles from the east boundary of Zion National Park. This land is where our family calls home & has been in the Lundgren family for four generations & is still used for agriculture purposes today. In late May, we unload sheep to graze the nearby meadows and mid-to-late summer, cows roam the area adding to the uniqueness of the experience. This part of the country is home to textured red rock, blue skies, & numerous desert flora & fauna, making it an ideal spot for photographers. Some of the animals you might spot include owl, bear, mountain lion, bobcat, deer, coyote, turkey, snakes, lizards, as well as many different types of birds. There is very little light pollution making the night sky dazzling & unforgettable. You can't get much more authentic and unique than spending a night under the stars in a sheep camp! These two were used as traditional sheep camps and would port to a new location each time the sheep were trailed to new pasture. Now that the sheep business has become more of a hobby for our family, we have converted the camps into a cozy home for others to experience.  The green camp sleeps two guests on one full-sized bed and the silver camp sleeps four guests on two full-sized beds. (There is also room for tents - please inquire.) The camps are in close proximity to one another located on private property about 8 miles into the backcountry of Zion National Park. Whether you are a larger group (up to 6) or a single soul, make these camps home while you do all of your Southern Utah backcountry exploring!

Zion Backcountry Sheep Camps
I could see the milky way! There's almost no light pollution. The host thought of everything, the camp is incredibly comfortable. I loved being far enough out of the way that we essentially didn't see any people while we were there. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Perf dark sky & thoughtful details
We stayed in a range of places while exploring southern Utah - from hotels to bnbs. This was by our favorite stay. Jen had thought about everything you could ever need for a complete - or even elevated - glamping experience. The best dark sky as well - we saw multiple shooting stars so clearly alongside the Milky Way-, since we were surrounding mountain ranges that blocked any chance of light pollution even from a distance. Plus the shower pressure and temp were surprisingly outstanding. Would stay again and for longer! We got there alright about an hour before sunset in the 2wd sedan the rental company “upgraded” us to but the road is definitely a faster ride in full day light and with 4wd.
