Where the Wild Things Tent/Car Camp
What a fantastic kitschy spot! This was our favorite camp site of the 4 we had on our trip. Would certainly stay again.

Instructions for the campsite were very accurate and easy to follow (in daylight). The way up is a dirt road but doable with our campervan. It was a very peaceful site and we had a good night sleep. We had a nice view on the looking glass rock and a beautiful sunset. It was also nice to meet the host and his story about the name of the campspot was really nice.

Unique Stay
We loved camping here! We arrived when it was dark, set up camp and quickly realized we weren’t at the actual camp when we couldn’t find the bathroom. What an upgrade from our first spot once we found the sites! Each boasts its own unique pieces (road signs, rusty motorcycles, carved wood sculptures etc). Each site also had seating, a table and ours had grills for the fire pit as well. Privacy from other campers as well. Clean and stocked bathroom.

Where the Wild Things Tent/Car Camp
Coop but abandoned
The campground was very unique- you can gather that from the photos and other reviews. I was excited about the experience however, we stayed over labor day weekend, and for 2 days we did not see a single person, not even the host. It was odd. And because there is a junk yard nearby it gave it a very creepy/abandoned vibe. By the second night, since it was just myself and my son, we decided to pack up and leave even though we paid for 2 nights. It just didn't sit right with both of us and gave us an unsafe feeling. I don't have anything bad to say about the campgrounds because everything was as advertised but I wish I had known going into it that there wasn't a host on-site. Also, coming from Colorado, we typically pay $20-25 a night for a campsite with running water, bathrooms, firepits and grills, and dumpsters for trash. I found it strange to pay $45 a night and the only amenity was a porta potty. It you are adventurous and not concerned about being out in the middle of nowhere alone, I'd reccomend checking it out.
