Sparrow Bend River Retreat is a beautiful 8 acre multi-site vacation rental property with camping, RV sites and 2 vacation homes. With a private 300yard stretch of the crystal-clear, spring fed MEDINA RIVER your party will spend the day exploring its majestic cliffs and coves, paddling/floating the river (tubes and kayaks for rent), splashing in the shallows, playing yard games on the lawn or sunbathing on a massive bolder. Enjoy a delicious and memorable dinner in Lakehills (15min), Bandera (20min) or Boerne (25min). Or stay in and grill out over the fire, or at the provided grill. Camp sites each have a customized picnic table for you convenience. Spend you evening sharing laughs around the provided firepit as you take in the dazzling canopy of stars. (Firewood available for sale) Our family has always dreamed of hosting a place for families and friends to come enjoy nature however we would have never dreamed of finding a property as unique and beautiful as this. A lake when the water is high, a beautiful river when the waters low. All crowned by a majestic limestone bluff, complete with boulders, coves and endless room for adventures. This land was once a part of a wagon trail along the river and, if you're lucky, you can still find arrowheads along the paths. The property is gated with a high privacy fence along the neighboring borders for security.

Riverfront 2

Perfect Family Camping Trip

My family of 5 all loved tent camping here! We stayed two nights and we did not want to leave. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. There was plenty of space to still feel secluded and peaceful. I love that they have a bathroom and showers! That was really helpful since we had 3 children. The river was a blast! We rented a kayak for one day and my kids had so much fun with that. It was so hard to leave.

Slot 2

Great space!

Angela provided excellent directions and information for arrival. The #2 slot wasn't truly a pull-through since #1 and #2 are sharing a close space. We were lucky that no one had booked for #1 and enjoyed much privacy and quiet times. The walk to the river was excellent and there were multiple areas to be able to enter the water as desired. Even in this drought, the Medina had a good deal of water running into Medina Lake. I'd highly recommend this HipCamp area. And to Angela, thanks for all your help prior to our arrival. Riverfront 4

We loved our stay, it was a nice/easy walk to the river, if you want privacy this in my opinion is the best campsite closest to the water with shade.

Riverfront 2

Great site in proximity to the water while still being shaded from the sun! This site is pretty close to the site next to it, so keep that in mind. No one reserved the site while we were there but it would have been a little too close for comfort if they had. Also, keep in mind that there are some dogs near the property that bark loudly at night so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper! Overall, we enjoyed our weekend with the pups and appreciated the timely responses from Angela to our questions and requests. We would definitely return with a group next time!
