Rough Run Creek Bridge Camping
The manager/host isn’t correspondent when you have questions or concerns. Their mailbox is full. And even after a week, does not respond back at all. I had to leave early due to a family emergency and when asked about refunds, he never got back to me. A response with a yes or no would have been acceptable, but not responding is poor service. I wouldn’t recommend.

Rough Run Creek Bridge Camping
We came here on a whim due to a change in our itinerary from another Hipcamp. It was nice to find a spot so close to the park, ONLY 2 mins, that had availability. The only thing I wish was there was a more clear sign of where to enter as there are similar place that are just “empty spots”. We arrive way after dark so we were only relying on our maps at the tiny sign on the mailbox, which you can’t see from the road. As stated, there are no toilets or showers, we were able to find a shower at BJs Rv Park about 15 mins down the roads that offered them for outsiders for $5/person. We really liked being close to the grocery store and the park! We would stay here again, just for one night, to have closer access to the park. Once they build onto the land more we would love to come back and try again!

Rough Run Creek Bridge Camping
Almost got nailed!
It did come through in a pinch on the holiday as everything was booked up in the park but it could have been a costly stay. There was 3" framing nails all over the entry way up to about 100feet into the entrance. I just put new tires on my rv hence the " I might recommend "

Rough Run Creek Bridge Camping
exactly what we needed for a no frills night of sleep … we arrived at night to lots of level space right outside of big bend, and found coffee in town a few minutes down the road in the morning. perfect.

Rough Run Creek Bridge Camping
Close to Big Bend; off-grid camping
We booked Rough Run RV Campground for its “toilet available” amenity and was disappointed there’s none on site. Fortunately, we arrived before the local market closed so we were able to use their bathroom. William was great communicating before we arrived with instructions to find the site and responsive with our concerns about the lack of a toilet. He also refunded our reservations. It’s a great place to stay if you’re going to Big Bend as it’s close to it. It’s not a good fit for us but if you’re fully prepared for off-grid primitive camping this is a good place to stay overnight.
