River Forest Haven is a unique space that seeks to bring you closer to nature. We do not artificially light the camp and we strive to leave as much of the property in its natural state as we can. This provides a unique experience that is not your typical campground as we keep all of our campsites tucked under lush natural canopies. Car and tent camping works great! For most sites, you can easily drive up to your spot. Arrive, take a look around and settle into your site. We are always happy to deliver any of our items from our general store- just message us on HipCamp and we will come by. With nearly half a mile of Colorado riverfront to swim, fish, toob, paddle-board, kayak, and canoe*, along with 30 acres to hike and explore, River Forest Haven is also a quick 20-minute drive from downtown Austin. THINGS OF NOTE: ⁃ cell phone service is mostly non-existent ⁃ firewood can be brought or bought, but not collected.

Pretty Good.
Fun camp site but when we went there was a wedding happening across the road and it was LOUD. I’d assume it isn’t an every weekend kind of thing but it really put a damper on the “get away from people” vibe. And you can hear the highway from here. But that’s to be partially expected being so close to the city still. Staff was super nice and really helped us out when our fire wood got snatched. I would recommend this place for a day visit or overnight stay.

Beautiful camp grounds!
I’ve stayed here a few times! I took a kayak out on the river, enjoyed the sunset, and then took a heated outdoor shower before enjoying my campfire and going to sleep

Definitely a cool spot to camp. I was in a forest site with my van and loved every minute of it. Next time I’ll do a river spot for the experience but what an amazing property.

This was probably one of the best camping experiences I've had yet. The host was super friendly, came around to pick up our trash every so often, delivered our canoes and even provided clean restrooms and showers. The actual spot was beautiful too, near the water, nice trees to give shade and an open field close by to pass a football or frisbee. I would definitely camp here again!

We love it!
This is a great campsite for beginners like ourselves! It was really peaceful and calm, the host was amazing from the beginning and was very communicative. We had campers near us at most of the sites but everyone was just respectful and you would barely notice people there.

Camp staff was so kind and accommodating. Really great spot to share my son’s first camping experience. You can’t plan for the Texas heat, but the rest was perfect.
