This historic property on the deepest spot of the majestic Blanco River has been in my family for well over 100 years, and 5 generations. The massive 2015 floods destroyed the structure and since then we have been enjoying camping on it, as we have slowly rebuilt the structure. Once ancient native Indian lands, you can scour for arrowheads, fossils, lava rocks (just found this past weekend on the cliff top) and so much more! I have spent my entire 53 years enjoying this property, and am honored to share the tranquil and peaceful retreat of the outdoor space to those discerning campers of the world! Swimming, tubing, kayaking, SUP'ing, floating, cliff climbing, evening camp fires, and so much more await you at 'Our Heritage and Legacy'. There is very intentionally no cable, no internet, no tv. The goal of time at our place of peace is to reconnect with nature, and remind ourselves what really matters.
Learn more about this land:
Our Heritage and Legacy is a beautiful shaded lawn under a canopy of old oaks that are a few hundred years old and pecan trees. There is a huge privacy wall of bamboo that gives you a sense of absolute privacy, with a cliff on the opposing side to encase you and your loved ones in this majestic retreat. There is also a pull up/ hook up area for travel trailers and smaller rv's with a 30 amp plug in and a 50 amp plug in. This is on a gorgeous area on the deepest swimming hole of the Blanco River in Wimberley, Texas! OH, and the entire Blanco River in Wimberley is private! There is no river accessible camping available to the public, anywhere in Wimberley! Has two beautiful docks on the water: one is perfect for morning coffee, wine sipping, fishing, meditating, yoga, with an adjacent access ladder and steps to get in and out of the water, the other has a large bench, steps to the water for entering with water toys, etc, and a rope swing! This property includes a cliff to climb with ropes installed and amazing views of the Blanco river valley east and west from the top! Water toys are available for rent and use as desired/needed (the reservations for such need to be made in advance/or at time of check in, to have available for your use) : 3 additional kayaks($40/day), 4 tubes($9/day), a SUP ($45/day), along with two other beanbag type chair floats($15/day)-. You may either rent through Hipcamp, in advance, or on site at check in. There are electrical hookups for rv's/travel trailers (one 20 amp and one 50 amp)- however, all campers whether tent, RV's/Travel trailers will need to bring in your own water supply for your general use, please. (The property is on a rain water collection/purification system, and has very limited water for the overall property use-to have water trucked in to refill the tank is quite expensive. Campers may NOT use the water supply connected to the house- please respect.) You will have absolute privacy on these 3 acres, with no neighbors, beyond those folks who live across the river on their large pieces of land! The rate is $220/night for up to 4 campers, unless specified otherwise due to a holiday, and each additional camper beyond, $30/pp. This property is not appropriate for children under 12 because of safety concerns with the cliff, the river and the road bisecting the property that leads to the river. No children under 12 allowed. I am quite firm about this, and I apologize in advance. What makes it an amazing property, a destination for camping and exploring, also makes it a safety risk for younger children. There is an antique fireplace that is from the origins of the property over a century ago on the large outdoor patio and a huge fire pit on the cliff top. Bundles of wood are available to purchase at $9 each. Please DO NOT help yourself to our wood piles, we had to pay someone to cut and stack it all- it is not free. We are happy to stock each firepit area with bundles of wood, per your request. You may also purchase a fire starter stick for $8/each. (I did previously supply those, but they kept walking off at the end of each groups stay- thank you for understanding). There is also a full size refrigerator and freezer available for your use during your stay. The overall vibe is absolute peace, serenity, calm, and relaxation. In the evenings, if you are calm, still and quiet- foxes, and raccoons shall run all around your area, and the foxes are known to eat from your hands. It is simply the best of nature, being there! The famous Blue Hole and Jacobs Well swimming holes along with their respective hiking trails and parks are minutes away, along with the highly regarded Wimberley Zipline being just 5 minutes down the road, too! DO note, to swim at Jacob's Well, Blue Hole or partake in the Zipline experience requires advance online reservations. (there is a secret to getting into the Jacob's Well if you were not able to get reservations, make sure to ask me about, if interested! it has previously always worked for me!) To hike the trails in either the Jacobs Well County Park, Mount Baldy, or The Blue Hole Regional park does not require reservations! Have I mentioned the famous Wimberley Glass Works- just a 15 minute drive away! Bring your lawn games, your corn hole, and relax on the sprawling lush zoysia lawn under the evening twinkling lights strung from the oak trees that are hundreds of years old. The best restaurants are 4-10 minutes away and many wineries, breweries, and distilleries around are also nearby within the community and surrounding area- Wimberley is a destination tourist town and a culinary journey with fantastic shopping, too!! Fantastic bonus to add to a gorgeous location to enjoy in your little slice of heaven, peace and privacy. Least we not forget, Market Days! The first Saturday of each month, March through December is the famous Market Days. Vendors from all over the state and US come to sell their wares. Over 500 booths!

Travel trailers, Fifth wheels, Toy haulers, Pop-up campers, Class A RVs, Class B RVs, Class C RVs, Campervans, and Cars allowed
Vehicles under 25 feet allowed
Trailers, or RV's over 25' in length will find it difficult to pull in and out, and potentially rip off their back stabilizer jacks due to the slope of the driveway coming off the road.. It is possible, and there is space, but I DO not recommend in the dark, please. Please discuss with me your RV or TT before committing to a reservation if you have any concerns.

Surface type: Loose Gravel
larger RV's will require leveling. Depending upon area desired, you will either be on a caliche/concrete area, or gravel. you may NOT park on the grass. You do have a variety of spots to choose to anchor at, so if you choose elsewhere, rv leveling might be needed.

Electrical hookup available
50 amps. There is a 20 Amp and a 50 Amp connection for Rv's Travel trailers, and plenty of other accessible outlets for just getting "traditional electricity" for charging gadgetry, etc.
Generators allowed
because there is plenty of privacy and space, you certainly may use a generator if the need arises. However, there are electricity hookups accessible.
No water hookup
Because we are on rain water collection for the main structure, and it is only 1500 gallons, we prefer you arrive with your water tanks full. The water is highly purified, and can be utilized for filling dog bowls, and other small usage, but please be respectful of the usage of our rain water collection. It is not available for your RV/Trailer connection usage. Thank you for understanding. It is quite expensive to fill if it runs out. There is a separate water collection tank available that is not for drinking water, but dish and hand washing, etc. DO bring in your own drinking water.
No sewage hookup
NO, there is NO SEWAGE hookup, or grey water drain on site. Please respect.
No TV hookup

Campfires allowed
Firewood provided, firepit, wood burning fireplace, private.
As long as we are not in a burn barn, you may have a small fire up on the cliff top (as long as you extinguish before leaving the clifftop), or in the outdoor fireplace on the patio, which again needs to be extinguished before leaving the area of the fire or going to bed for the night, whichever comes first . Please do NOT leave any fires burning, anywhere, unattended. We will provide bundles at a cost of $8/bundle. Please leave cash for the additional bundles on the table on the large patio, before departure, or make arrangements with host for payment through FB pay, Venmo or PayPal Pay, if no cash is available. Those who take advantage of our wood supply on the property, will not be welcomed back and will be charged through hipCamp for any wood used, and not paid for upfront. It cost us money to cut and stack the wood that is there. Thank you for understanding.
Pets allowed
Off leash, on leash. There is also a large dog run/fenced in area to secure dogs in the front yard. River Road does bisect my property, and can be a safety hazard for any pets (or children) crossing to the river . Due to such, if your dogs are not on complete voice control command, PLEASE have them leashed when going to/from the river. 3/4 of the property is fenced in, one line that has not yet been rebuilt is not. The same applies. IF your dogs are on voice command control, they are welcome to run the acreage free. IF not, I highly recommend putting them in the dog pen, or tethering. The speed limit on River Road is 25 MPH, but it is not always followed. A new pet proof automatic gate has just been installed, but, there are areas that are not fenced in yet on the west side and the road front as we are waiting to rebuild that section. Please clean up, BAG and throw in trash all animal waste. You will receive a penalty fee of $75 if we have to clean up your pet waste.
No toilet; campers must bring camp toilets
Please dig a cathole in any area besides the river front, or the zoysia lawn. This goes for dogs, also. either dig a cathole, or pack it out. DO not leave ANY waste of any kind, paper included, behind on the grounds-IF you leave human waste or animal waste on the grounds you will be charged a $75 clean up fee.- We are happy to now have the option of a newly constructed portable toilet that will be on the backside of the driveway. AS you "deposit" solids, Please spring a shovel of wood shavings/sawdust over them, sanitize your hands and move on. Once your group is ready to leave from your stay, bag up, tie up, and pack it out with you. Easy Peasy! Please put a new bag in, as you do, for the next "visitor". Liquid waste should be simply in nature, but, if necessary, head on to the head, and again cover with shavings, and move on about your day. IF you do not clean up after yourself in the port-a-potty, a $75 fee will be charged for cleaning up your waste, after you.
There is no trash service at this property. When you have completed your stay, you will need to tie off the trash and recycling and take it with you for disposal. Failure to do so will result in a $75 fee.
Bins available
Trash bin. There are two lined trash bins provided. One is labeled for trash, the other is labeled for recyclables. Please bag all and deposit accordingly in the separate bins. When you complete your stay, you will need to tie off the trash, recyclables, and waste, and take with you for disposing. Please acknowledge in the reservation request that you understand this. Your waste bags for the outhouse also need to be tied off, and disposed of in the trash bin at the end of each day, please. Any trash left behind, will result in a fee of $50/ bag to be hauled off.
Picnic table present
There is a brand new and gorgeous 6 person table on the new rock patio area. Please clean it up as you found it, upon your arrival.
No potable water
Bring your own water, purify from river or stream. Due to the rain water tank being small for the private cottage, and the great expense of having to truck in water when it is emptied, we do not allow campers access to that water system. You will want to bring in your own drinking water and general use water. We do not allow RV's to hook up for their water needs for bathing, etc. For those who come in an RV or a TT, please make sure your water tanks are full before arrival.
No showers
Bathe in river or stream. There is no outdoor shower available. Enjoy the wonderful river! We did not have an outdoor potty a week ago, now we do! So, soon in the future after TRULY completing the outdoor potty, we shall then work on an outdoor shower. I welcome your ideas and reccomendations! Until then, enjoy the river, or bring your own solar shower.
Cooking equipment absent
However, our main house is a mere 4 minutes away and we have a great personal stash of camping kitchen gear. If you forget something, we are happy to loan or rent it to you if we are available to get it to you! We are HUGE cross country campers ourselves! Also, there is an ACE Hardware just 6 Minutes from the property to get anything you need, along with a wonderful HEB!

Blanco Oasis
Tent · With pets
We had an amazing and relaxing weekend camping at “Our Heritage and Legacy”. The property is nestled under a serine canopy with gorgeous views. After bird and wildlife watching each morning, we spent our day floating in the perfect Blanco River swimming hole. On each evening a short climb to the hilltop oasis provided a spectacular setting to watch the moon rise and admire the stars. Sara was an exceptional hostess and we are looking forward to our next stay!

Great place right on the river!
Group trip
Sara's property was a great place to spend my birthday camping with a few friends for the weekend! The property is beautifully maintained and Sara is very helpful and friendly. The Blanco River is spectacular and the property has incredible access. Two things to point out: unfortunately there is no camping on the lawn but we made do in some gravel areas on the perimeter. Sara was upfront about this so we knew this fact in advance. The bathroom situation is very primitive but we were fortunate to have our own trailer to use. We would definitely stay again!

Group trip
We stayed in the middle of summer with two teenage boys and two dogs, and had a fantastic time.
The property is beautiful and just as we expected from the photos. The house is set back about 50 yards from the river. You walk down the short drive and cross the small road to get to the river bank. (The photo of the river bank showing the decks is taken from the road). We swam, paddled, fished, and hung out on the patio in the evening. A perfect getaway.
Sara met us at the property when we checked in and made sure we had everything we needed.
We'll go back again next summer.

Our family stayed at Sara's property. While it is a lovely property, with a magnificent view, it was not what we expected or were promised. First, Sara said the lawn was damaged from all the campers and asked us to camp on a very small section of it right next to the driveway. We opted to camp on the patio to preserve the lawn.
HipCamp gave us a $40 credit for our troubles.
Without these challenges, I could see this being a very nice place to camp. But we wouldn't stay there again.
