Private, peaceful and secluded. We purchased the 5.3 acres as a forest back in 2007. We cut down a little bit of the forest to build our house. Native Americans once lived here. Sometimes you can find arrowheads. Some of the forest burned down in the great Bastrop wildfire in 2011, but it has grown back. Learn more about this land: Lost Pines Camping is located on a gravel dead-end road. We are in a pine forest with some oaks and have a two-acre lake on the property that is good for swimming. Bastrop and Buescher State Parks are nearby and easy to access through back roads. Blackberries can be picked for a month or so in springtime. The land is a bit hilly. Downtown Bastrop and Downtown Smithville are both a ten-minute drive away. There is one RV site and one tent site. The tent site is a one minute hike downhill into the forest. The bathroom is on the other side of the property near our house. When parking go 50ft down the driveway and park on the cement slab to the left. If you have an RV you will sleep at this spot, if you're tent camping it is a 1 minute walk from there through the forest down hill. The bathroom is a 2 minute walk from the tent site and 3 minutes from the RV site. There is little shade at this spot until the sun gets low in the west. The tent site has no electricity but it does have water 50 feet away. There is an electric outlet next to where you park. There is not enough space to tent camp next to the parking spot. Please message us two hours or so before you arrive with an estimated time of arrival. We shut the phone down 9pm so please make sure you've spoken to us in advance that way we have the opportunity to show you around.

Quiet Oasis
This little hidden gem in Smithville, TX is worth shouting about. The owner, Craig, is a great host. He has put together a really nice place for folks to either stop and camp? Or stopover, sleep, and get moving again. We were the latter. However, no matter how short our stay, we were still impressed by the warmth of our greeting, the hospitality offered, and the pretty spot we found ourselves in. Do not miss it!
