1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING Free firewood for use during your stay and can make a good deal if you want to take some home! As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have approximatley 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. Another my brother likes that has a cypress tree submerged you can sit on he calls the 1000 waterfalls 3. What we call the big pond which has the beginnings of a zip line if i can re-engineer how i have it tied on the opposite bank..right now its not high enough on the opposite bank. The goal is to zip line from one bank to the opposite and drop into the water...about 150 ft. It may or may not stay once we try it out...dont anyone getting hurt...But I think zip lines are a blast and we need to do a few rope swings into the water too! Big Pond Tent Site

Love it!

This is a wonderful place for adventures, hiking, camping, in general a place to find yourself and reconnect with nature. Nightly was magnificent, the nature sounds and the peace you get for so little. Definitely coming back again!

The Teepee

Amazing ranch!

We ended up having pick of the ranch and went up to the ridge. The views are spectacular but it was windy. We explored a bit and the Tepee was great but a bit muddy with the rain which is why we went to the ridge. The ladder was also lovely and had a picnic there since no one else was on the ranch. It is an amazing property but is a bit off the beat and path. We loved that but is a drive in and out. The water crossings look intimidating but no problem at all. Fritz was very welcoming and accommodating and we had a fabulous time enjoying the beauty of this ranch. We even saw the big elk twice and deer. 5 star experience- Thank you!

The Teepee

My family loved camping at the TeePee campsite. We were lucky enough to have most of the place to ourselves and explored each campsite and swimming areas. The ladder was an exceptional swimming hole. Our kids had a blast swimming there. Along with the big pond where they zip lined and swam. We took an evening hike up to the ridge and saw the most beautiful sunset where there were hammock ties with an incredible view. 10/10 recommend this location and we will definitely be back. It was quiet, beautiful, private, and well kept land. You can tell Fritz really cares for his property and the campsites.

Beautiful Hill Country Getaway

From wildlife , water crossings, and dark skies, Fritz’s land has it all. The views from The Ridge site are amazing. I will visit again.

The place was great. We stayed at the Ladder Swimming Hole site. As the name states, there was a ladder down to the ice cold river that you could swim in. We explored the rest of the ranch and the ridge campsite looked amazing.
