Harvey's on the Hill
Great to work with!
Great directions and communications were provided throughout the entire process. We had to change our plans last minute due to the weather (there to view the eclipse and the clouds came in) and can't comment on the location itself, but the process of both booking the place, ongoing communications, and our eventual change of plans were handled smoothly and professionally. A great host to work with!

Great Camping on the Frio
Great communication, and information to get to the site. Site was very well maintained and exactly as described. Would definitely camp here again.

Harvey's on the Hill
Very nice spot. The little cabin definitely added a lot to our camping set up. The river was low, but deep enough for a good dip in.

Harvey's on the Hill
Beautiful swimming hole
The swimming hole close by is beautiful and even though the water level in general was very low, the water level and the swimming hole was excellent. Made it worth the trip.

Harvey's on the Hill
Havery's on the Hill was a great camp site and location. The location next to the river was great, especially if you want to relax in the Frio. The campground was large with enough space for a good amount of people. When the sun sets turn off all your lights, and just look up to enjoy the vast night sky and stars. Communication was great, and the site was fairly easy to find. I highly recommend a 4x4 vehicle to cross the river (our 4Runner and Jeep crossed easily, but the loose bed of rocks did make it more difficult than expected), we saw a few vehicles actually get stuck and require some pushing. This was a great site and would definitely come back.

Tip-Top Time at Harvey’s on the Hil
It’s easy to find if you trust the directions. Just when you think you are heading down the wrong road you come to a bridge with a small stretch of river to cross. Once across you begin to feel the ambiance of seclusion. Set up was easy with the directions provided, two people make it easier than one for sure. The property is river front but the right distance from the water to have privacy when you are at the cabin. The cabin is your basic rustic shelter that provides a toilet and outside rinse shower. The grill is a beast that’ll be around longer than any of us. I highly recommend a propane grill for breakfast cooking though. As well your own hand washing water. Before the river day begins and after it ends; the walking trails provide so much nature watching. Deer are always close by along with your occasional armadillo. The piece of the river it is on is one of the most diverse. Many visitors we spoke to were staying quite a drive away but enjoy this particular section. Knowing what the houses pay across the street to spend the same time at the water with much more effort… it’s an unbelievable deal to have the secluded side the cabin is on for a fraction of the price. My family loved it and can’t wait to go back!!!
