The Dollhouse
Relaxing Riverside Glamping
My husband and I stayed the weekend at Hipcamp and thoroughly enjoyed it! It definitely provided a relaxing way to detox from the hectic and busy schedules that tend to rule our days. This was the first time to go "glamping". The accommodations were very comfortable and exceeded our expectations and provided everything that we needed. We stayed in The Dollhouse which gave us both a view and easy access to the river and also had a fenced in yard that allowed us to bring our family pet. Nights sitting by the firepit with a cup of tea was a great way to end the day. I look forward to going again.

Gypsy Moon Hideaway Primitive Camp
I highly recommend!!!
Such a cool campsite! Amy was extremely hospitable to us and made sure we knew where our site was as well as helping us get firewood to our site. It was a really fun campground with animals and the river close by to get in. Such a relaxing and fun weekend!!!

Gypsy Moon Hideaway Primitive Camp
We had so much fun! It seemed crowded at first but Amy was able to find us a spot and it was perfect! Our kids had so much fun and especially loved the animals on the property! Amy and her team were so friendly and helpful! We’d definitely come back!

Gypsy Moon Hideaway Primitive Camp
It’s been a minute!
Went tent camping over the weekend and the place was nice! Admittedly, it had been a VERY LONG TIME since I camped and certainly my first time camping at a dual campsite (RV and Tent), but Gypsy Moon made it super easy. All the guests were easy to get along with, would help you out if you couldn’t find something.
A few things to note (and this is not AT ALL) a negative, just FYI:
- You will basically be disconnected. Cellphone service is very spotty, so be prepared if you need to be connected.
- The campsite “Chicken Run” (personally the one with the best view) is extremely close to the chickens, ducks and other animals. If you don’t mind the roosting at 0400 this is great, but if you want some more “quiet,” look for a different campsite on the property.
- Many of the animals get to roam around during the day. I thought it was AWESOME when a “guest” would come by and “visit.” But just be aware that chickens, goats, ducks, cats, dogs, etc. do wander around. (I feel that this is part of the experience of staying here)
- The river is LOW and pure sand, so make sure you have the right shoes.
All in all, would recommend and happy to go back. Convenient to Fort Worth, but secluded enough to let you feel like you’ve escaped.
