Find extreme solitude and unforgettable views of Guadalupe Peak at this desert escape next to Guadalupe Mountains National Park! This is choose-your-own-adventure camping. The terrain is rugged, and the dust and wind blow some nights. Once you're here, there are zero amenities (other than picnic tables). If this sounds fine — you don't mind roughing it — you'll be sleeping under the stars at the foot of West Texas' tallest mountain range. And who else can say they've done that? I truly loved this property, the plant life is awesome and the mountain views! Closest thing to staying inside the natl park, while having a bit more privacy than those campgrounds offer. I loved waking up to El Cap in full view, and was able to have a nice campfire. I do suspect it could be a bit dusty on certain nights, but that didn't happen to me. Had masks and am used to the desert, but was a pleasant night altogether.

A great view !
Had a great experience camping here, even some off roading fun to get to our site. The views were amazing especially being able to see El Capitan with what seems like even Guadalupe peak Itself. The entrance is a little hard to miss especially at night so be careful ! I would definitely love to stay at this site in the future.

I really liked this place. Primitive camps are great if you come prepared. We hiked at Guadalupe National Park on Nov. 5, and this place is right down the road. The stars were great. I think we were at 40 degrees, and it gets windy out here sometimes, so we used our vehicle to block the wind. The way the camp is set on a hill gives a good view.

Great sunrise, stars and view of El Capitan. I got in after dark and was able to find a good campsite and get set up no prob. Perfect spot to use as home base when you’re going into Guadalupe Mountains NP.
