In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners!
Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees.
We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state.
Come see us; we'd like to share it all with you!

Fieldsong Farm offers a charming escape from city life with its welcoming hosts and peaceful setting. Campers appreciate the chance to interact with farm animals like goats, donkeys, and chickens, making it a memorable experience for families, especially children. While some mention the proximity to roads as a reminder of its urban fringe location, the serene atmosphere and thoughtful amenities, like a fire pit and breakfast options, ensure a pleasant stay. The absence of running water or toilets at the campsite is noted, but the hosts' hospitality and the farm's rustic charm shine through in every review.
Overall, this place is nice. The addition of the farm fresh eggs was a big plus! They were absolutely delicious. A few things to suggest to people considering this site: 1. Make sure to contact the hosts a few days prior to your stay to make sure they are ready for you. We arrived and the hosts had forgotten we were coming. 2. When contacting the hosts, verify if they are currently allowing fires on the property because we were surprised that they had their own burn ban in place while staying. We respected their wishes not to have a fire but it definitely changes the camping experience! The campsite is very close to the trees and even with the placement of the fire pit, large fires under normal conditions could pose dangerous. Finally, after we arrived I sent a message asking about the eggs and having our own fire pit as there was not a county burn ban in effect and still received no response from Stephanie on the HipCamp app for the whole stay. Otherwise, the farm is beautiful and both hosts were friendly to chat with! Very good perks and also some frustrating details. Still recommend for a chill spot with my suggestions!
Hosts were helpful and very welcoming. Neat little peice of Texas Hill Country right outside the metroplex. Quiet and doesn’t feel like you’re in DFW. Can be in town quickly. Perfect place to put your camper when your stopping along the way
Overall, we had a great experience! Even though we only stayed during the night hours as a stopover on a longer road trip, the site was convenient. It’s more urban than we expected and the location was close to the road, but it didn't detract much from our stay. We appreciated the quick and easy stop along our journey!
My daughter and I really enjoyed camping at Stephanie’s farm
Stephanie and her husband were wonderful hosts
The site was absolutely amazing.
I highly recommend camping there.
Great place to land for the night. Appreciated the 30A hookup during the Texas summer. I especially love what Fieldsong Farm are doing to help our birds, bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects.
