I loved this campsite! Great location. Close to the ghost town (5mins) and 30mins to the park entrance. This was perfect for me because I did a couple early morning trips to the park. It was quiet at night and had the most beautiful sky. Karen was a great host and available on the property for request. I will definitely be back.

It would be hard to imagine a better place for us to base camp near Big Bend NP. The view of the Terlingua-area valley and beyond into the park is amazing, the area was dead quiet and super-dark at night, it is minutes from gas and groceries, and it's just a few miles from a Park entrance. Karen is a wonderful host and so generous with her property. The limited facilities were perfect for us, and campsites are quite isolated from each other. Camping here made our Big Bend experience the best it could be. Wonderful. Thanks!!

Nice hideaway in the desert. Beautiful views. Not suitable for large RVs but great for small vans and tent campers.

Camping at Site 2
I loved staying at Karen’s property. The amenities were wonderful and Karen was amazingly generous and kind. Her property is definitely a special place and we were very grateful and honored to stay. The views were simply unbeatable. Not to mention the history of Terlingua and her property in general was intriguing and something to keep in mind. I would stay over again, 3 days was simply not enough, we also had phone signal but the site offered wifi too. We genuinely had the best time and this was my favorite trip of my life thus far. Karen also kindly gave us good food recommendations and we ate at the taqueria el Milagro three nights in a row lol. We will definitely be back to Terlingua in time!

Site 2 - Terlingua Dark Skies
We had site 2 which we shared with friends so we paid extra for the extended campsite. Definitely recommend doing that if you have more than 1 tent. We loved the solitude and the gorgeous sunsets. Rainwater shower was great, esp. after day of hiking and we all thought the outhouse was nicest and cleanest we’ve used in years of camping. Karen and her cute dog Mojo were wonderful hosts-helpful and friendly with great advice. Location is also good if you’re trying to spend time in both the national and state park!

Karen was made to host people!! She was very attentive and so helpful. The campsite was so lovely and tucked away from all other sites. Her property is about 8 minutes from downtown Terlingua and 15 minutes from study butte. Mojo, the doggy concierge, was the cherry on top of this wonderful experience. The shower was amazing, she has an area dedicated to washing dishes, she provides toiletries is you are missing any, and she has an outhouse! Thank you, Karen for a lovely experience!
