Your vehicle will need to be AWD and if there is snow, 4WD. Picnic table, grill/firepit, and five chairs on site. You can gather plenty of wood in the adjacent Cherokee National Forest. This is near Lake Watauga, waterfalls, and rivers for great water fun and fishing. Less than an hour from Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and other ski resorts. Spectacular night star gazing. There are many wineries in the area. 35 minutes from Boone, NC. For great fun, bring your sleds in the winter.This mountaintop site has several possibilities where you may camp in a tent or park a pop-up camper or Camping Vans. The views are spectacular. Hiking the ridge, Cherokee National Forest is delightful. You have total privacy. The road to the top is a mile long, dirt and gravel with several steep slopes and curves. It is single lane with areas wide enough to pass. Lake Watauga is in view on the TN side and Beech Mountain, Boone, Rich Mountain on the NC side.
