One of the first parcels in Bledsoe County, TN, Swafford's Hollow resembles almost 740 acres of untouched wilderness. Although the lakes aren't natural, the environmental gain and beauty is amazing. Swafford's Hollow was purchased in November of 2020 by two of the Swafford brothers, with a vision of restoring the property to a pre-colonial environment, allowing wildlife and the ecosystem to thrive. Swafford's hollow is nearly completely forested, has three man-made lakes, two natural streams, a natural pond, many natural wetland areas, and over 27 miles of trails. It is our vision to develop an oak savanna, and spot clear cuts to allow graze land and cover with proper upkeep to develop habitat for many native species that are scarce from loss of savannas. There are three main campsites two beside ponds and one on top of the first ridge up the road on the left as you come in, and on the right at the top of the ridge. The sight at the top of the ridge is only accessible by hiking up the gravel trail approximately a half mile. Campers are welcome to camp anywhere on the property that they can get to on foot. There are three ponds/lakes and two main streams, two large ridges and two hollows with over 20 miles of trails and fish in the ponds. It is a beautiful place to hike, camp, fish, and swim. This location is less than 20 minutes from the beautiful Fall Creek Fall's State Park.

Swafford's Hollow
Unresponsive, no fire wood
My (now) Fiance planned an amazing proposal here as we already had our yearly Memorial Day camping trip booked and ready to go! The site was… good and bad all that the same time. Thankfully family arrived before us to clean up the campsite as there was trash and stuff all over the place when they arrived. Of course they could not reach out to Andrew as they were “working behind the scenes” to set up the proposal for my fiance. When I arrived (after our family cleaned up and reset the site it looked great to me! We did pay for 5 bundles of firewood while we booked the site but we never received the wood. I reached out to Andrew twice and had no answer the entire 4 day trip. Town is 30 minutes each way which was incredibly inconvenient to have to leave after arriving and setting up camp- not the end of the world but after a 3 hour drive it definitely wasn’t our first choice. I’d hate to think about something serious happening and us not be able to get a hold of the host. Entering the site was easy from the directions given but you definitely need a jeep or larger suv (we have a jeep) as some of the road is really rough. There is a huge pit in the middle of the “road” right past the main large campsite area that was full of old appliances- fridge, washers, etc. so although the site lists 3 lakes, 2 ponds, and a stream, we could only access one of the lakes. With all the great sites on Hipcamp we will probably not come back here.

We had a great weekend camping here! Everything was perfect for us. We loved sitting by the pond and our dog loved roaming off leash. It felt very safe and secluded and we definitely plan to come back!

Swafford's Hollow
Great Group Camping Spot
A great place that felt secluded but not too secluded. There is a lot of room to roam and explore and the campsite on the pond is awesome with big spools and wooden benches that are great for prepping meals and storing things above the ground. You feel like you are in a forest even though you are close to a highway. The only thing we didn’t like was there were alot of dogs barking in the distance at night.

It was an amazing experience. The lakes were gorgeous. I ordered wood ahead of time and it was dry and ready when we arrived. I wouldn’t change a thing!
