Sugarloafers is located on a portion of the old Ocoee Outdoors Zipline. It is nestled along the lower Ocoee river with great views of Sugarloaf and Big Frog Mountains. This is an excellent gateway to Parksville Lake and the Cherokee National Forest and all the activities it affords including whitewater rafting on the Hiwasee and Ocoee Rivers, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Lazy River Tubing, Fishing, and so much more! Our property is one of nine - 5 acre tracts along the river. As of Fall of 2022, one house has been built and it is on a lot adjacent to this one. So while this site is some distance from the house, it is currently within view. Within a mile from the end of the driveway there is: Food - Myrtles Cafe, a Subway Sandwich Shop and the Gondoler restaraunt. Whitewater Outfitters - Ocoee Outdoors, NOC Ocoee Outpost, ACE Ocoee Adventures Other - Rock Creek Oufitters Ocoee Store, Ocoee Express Gas Station and Convenience Store, Sugarloaf River Park and Parksville Dam and the entrance to the Cherokee National Forest! Dollar General - 4.2 miles back towards Cleveland (because someone forgot their phone charging cable). Middle Ocoee Private boater takeout is only a 10 minute drive! Note: Although the campsite is back from the highway, road noise can be an issue especially on the weekends. Highway 64 is one of three major roads in the county. Unfortunatley, tents don't block the sounds of Harleys racing down the road at 2 a.m. Consider bringing earplugs or muffs if you are a light sleeper.Pitch your tent along the lower Ocoee river and set your hammock up in adjacent pine trees. Enjoy watching the river flow from the top of the boulder or sit at the picnic table to enjoy a cool beverage. Build a fire in the fire ring and enjoy your stay after a day of recreation! All in a nicely shaded area. Just a 10 minute drive from the Middle Ocoee River take out and 5 minute drive to the Parksville Lake boat ramps.  The Ocoee Express gas station is 1/2 mile down the road and has a Subway and an excellent selection of adult beverages.  Grab a bite to eat just down the road at the Gondolier, Ocoee Dam Deli or The Bus if you're hungry. Be sure to check out breakfast at Myrtle's across the street but check hours ahead of time. If time permits, consider driving Hwy 64 into beautiful Ocoee Gorge up to Copperhill (25 miles/35 minutes one way) where there are many shops and several breweries.  Ocoee Watersports just 3 miles east rents kayaks, SUPs and more to get you out on the water. The Foodcity at 411 & 64 is slated to open in October of 2024. Make Sugarloafers your base camp for the Cherokee National Forest!

Riverside Tent & RV Site
Location was perfect for our needs. Having the river right there was great. We saw river otters, a coyote and lots of birds. Watching the water levels change daily was one of my favorite things. The view of the mountains on the other side of the road were beautiful, it’s really a great location if you can get over the two houses on either side and the highway noise. Thanks for the stay

Didn’t realize there’s only one campsite which was great! Directly next to the lower Ocoee so we saw a lot of kayakers and tubers pass us! Great spot to stay if you plan on doing water activities in the area.

Beautiful site, will be back!
Brian was super accommodating for our needs and had quick responses! It’s a beautiful site right on the river. I will say the river moved FAST so if you’re looking for a float definitely bring some rope to tie off to a tree. Will most definitely be back in the near future. Also very close to my favorite whitewater rafting company “Cherokee rafting”

Bird watcher’s paradise
Beautiful mountain and water views. We seen Bald Eagles, hawks, ospreys and many more birds. Overall we had a great time. Unfortunately the highway noise and difficulty access to the river were not what I expected. During the day it’s pretty peaceful and you do not notice the highway noises, but at night it makes sleeping pretty difficult. Even though you are right on the river, you can’t really get to the water for a steep embankment. We had a 6 year old with us, and we were constantly worried about her falling down the hill to the water. I would recommend a set of stairs leading to the water. We went when it was over 100 degrees and were expecting to be able to get to the water to cool off and unfortunately were not able to.

Safe along the river.
We enjoyed camping on Brian’s land. As others mentioned, it was closer to the road and there were lights on all night from a business across the street. We slept well though. Right on the river, left us firewood, and we had a nice evening tent camping.
