Camping at Sarah's property is a great choice for those looking for a quiet and secure spot near Memphis. The site offers a nicely maintained space with a fire pit and ample shade. While some campers noted occasional road noise and the need to carry gear a short distance from the car, the overall atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. A few reviews mentioned concerns about the safety of the surrounding area, but most found the campsite itself to be safe and private.
The space was clean and efficient. We stayed on a weekend so there was no landscaping noise. There also wasn’t much road noise either so we slept well. Great yard for doggos. Definitely recommend
Great set up! They have a nice size area and it’s maintained very well. We stayed there for a couple nights while we were passing through the area, and it was close enough to downtown that we got to explore without staying right in the heart of the city. The downside I had was that you’re camping right next to an empty shopping center building. They built a nice tall privacy fence but it did still make me feel own alert while staying here. The property is also a landscaping company but we hardly heard them in the mornings when they came in for their work trucks!
This property was not safe. On arriving, the campsite was really cute and the property pretty, spacious and inviting. Sarah was friendly, communicative and everything was clear. We got there around 4 and almost immediately heard shots in the distance. Lots of them. They continued on and off for hours. Then sirens. At 9 we had someone walk through the campsite while we were in the trailer and when I said hello through the window there was no response. I texted Sarah to see if it had been someone from the house and she thought maybe it had been a guest who was staying there. A bit after midnight, 7 shots rang out literally on the other side of the fence where we were parked. I heard 3-4 people talking and running. The fence does not surround the whole property and on the other side was an entire complex of vacated buildings( we saw upon leaving)Sirens followed. We didn’t sleep. It’s on me that I didn’t research to find out that Memphis is overwhelmed with violent crime. In the reviews there was no mention of any incidents such as this, but the whole area shows up dark orange/red on the crime map. Again it was a nice space, but I would feel dishonest if I didn’t relay this experience. I’ve been to many hip camps, travelled far and wide and not experienced as un safe a feeling as this. We would have left if we had somewhere else to go in the middle of the night but we were driving through.
This campsite was awesome! Despite being in the middle of Memphis, it was very quiet, secluded, and safe. The space was clean, level, and large enough for our rooftop tent. The price point is perfect for what you're getting. I would for sure stay here again if I'm ever in the area.
Cute setup and nice place to rest for the night. Host was very helpful.
