Shaded Creekside Campsite 3
I tent camped. The spaces were not crowded together. The bath house was nice. The property on the whole seemed to be well maintained.

Hilltop Mountain View Open Camp
Camping here was beautiful. Hosts are really communicative. Bathrooms are kept clean and there’s plenty of firewood for purchase upon arrival. Tent site was awesome. (Recommend bringing extra shoes for the site because the ground gets a bit damp with the dew and when the sun warms up the clay sticks to the bottom).
Shaded Creekside Campsite 1
Nice campsite but not very private
Overall we had a good experience at the campsite. But there were a few things I wish we were aware of before booking. The listing makes the sites seem like they are spaced much further than they actually are. I am used to campsites being close together, but one of the reasons I booked this site was it appeared we would have some space to ourselves when in reality, the other tent site was about 20 yards away and the glamping tent about 50 yards from our site. So it was difficult to feel like we had some space to ourselves, being able to hear the other site so close, and other people constantly coming and going. Also to get to the bathrooms (which were very nice and clean) there were constantly people from other campsites walking through ours to get there. Not a huge deal, just not the experience we were looking to have. We did not meet the hosts in person, but they were very responsive and kind through messaging. Site was clean, just not what we expected. I would recommend staying as long as you know what to expect.

Turkey Knob: Camp in the Smokies
So close!
I’ve gone back and forth on sending this review. I fully believe that John and Jenni will succeed in this, as it’s such a cool idea, and a wonderful piece of property in the Smoky Mountains.
Con’s:
—the trailer leaked in one of the beds- to be fair, there was a ridiculous amount of rain in the week we were there.
— not fully sealed, so very, very buggy.
—the county road to get to the campground is a little scary. We’re from mountain roads, and this one threw us for a loop.
—cost wise, it’s a bit pricey with fees. I paid more per night here than I would’ve a hotel, but we wanted to camp.
— bathrooms are at the bottom of the hill/beginning of the driveway. Middle of the night potty breaks were a little iffy, especially with the dang weather!
Pros:
— the location! 30 min from Gatlinburg!
— such an amazing idea. The tent sites around us has such amazing views.
— for those that like us couldn’t fit all of our camping supplies in our car, this was wonderful.
— they allow dogs! I’m sure this caused some extra work for them, as our dang puppy was super muddy, even with rinsing paws off.
I will say- we were here while Helene was hitting the coast. We ended up leaving super late one night to make sure we could get out, as our small car was sliding up and down the hill, and getting stuck. John was super nice the first time I reached out regarding the road out.
