This Hipcamp was fantastic! I loved it so much that I kept extending my stay!
It is situated on top of a mountain and the views are outstanding. You'll hear the donkeys braying occasionally and the cows across the way mooing. It is a lovely, bucolic setting.
The hook-ups are situated right next to the horses' and donkeys' pen, which I loved. The horses came up to greet me when I first arrived. I parked my van with my side doors facing the pen so that I (and my dog) could watch them. The other direction faces the hosts' house and two Airbnb cottages with long-term renters, so it's not entirely private, but it was fine as all were quiet and respectful.
I can't say enough great things about the hosts, Joe and Cindy. They are such wonderful, kind, generous people. They checked in with me occasionally to make sure everything was okay, including in the middle of a bad storm.
One thing to note is that cell service is non-existent after turning off the highway, so it is important to make sure you contact the hosts before then.
