NOTICE: we are in transition. It's been a long time in the works but our Wellness Treehouse in nearing completion. The treehouse is not open yet but we are getting close! Camping is still available, if you do not mind us driving past the camping area to get to the treehouse. There is some construction and power tool noise at times. We are building the hot tub and cold plunge area, tree-nets and other cool features. We will gladly give you a tour of all the happenings. This is likely to be the state of our camping area April - May 2024. We normally like to provide total privacy to guest however the current state of development prevents that. If you are good with that, we would be glad to host you. If that doesn't sound interesting to you, give us a couple more months to get our treehouse fully operational and come see us then. Join Fern Gully camping club and come have some fun with us. Just 20 minutes south of I-40, tucked away in the hills and hollers of Hickman County TN, you will find a rural and peaceful little camping spot we call Fern Gully. The camping area is approximately 5 acres bordered on the south side by Fern Mountain and the north side by Morgan Branch Creek. Large grassy area with access to the creek. Price is for 6 per campsite. If you have additional kids, just let us know and you can bring 2 for the price of 1. Pitch your tent along the banks of pristine Morgan Branch Creek under mature Beech, Poplar and Sugar Maples, string up a hammock or come in your camper van. Deer frequent the area in early morning and late evening. Barred Owls and Red-Tail Hawks can been seen gliding silently through the valley anytime. Butterflies and dragon flies dance over the sparkling springs. Pets are welcome but for their safety and the safety of local farm animals we ask that you keep them leashed or under voice control at all times. Tank the little red very friendly Aussie may pop in for a curious visit as well. Morgan Branch creek is perfect for the little ones to stay occupied all day splashing and exploring. Nearby Cane Creek offers larger swimming holes. Bring a kayak, canoe or SUP or rent one for floating Piney River or Buffalo River. Great fishing can be found at the Buffalo or Duck Rivers, both about a 20 minute drive from camp. Explore the local farming communities. Next door to camp is a regenerative farm owned by a famous musician. Just message us for that contact info and a possible tour. You will also discover an abundance of local Amish farms selling fresh garden veggies & home goods (every day except Sunday’s) during the summer months. 4-Wheelers, ATV’s and UTV’s are a great way to tour the backroads of the Cane Creek Amish community. Please ride respectfully around horse and buggy travelers or near homes. Enjoy quiet walks or bike rides on our chert (red gravel) roads. Cycling and motorcycle enthusiasts frequent the area spring and fall. If you need a change from your camp cooking, make sure to stop into Cane Creek Market for the best ever deli sandwiches. (Closed Sundays). Drive on into Linden (20 minutes from camp) to Video Corner Cafe’ for gluten-free pizza, hamburgers or fresh catfish. Like Mexican, try Mi Pueblito and be sure to try out The Commodore Hotel for weekend live music and delish dinning. Lobelville is 20 minutes from camp and offers Bold Wind Coffee Bar and Hott’s BBQ. Remember to visit Grinders Switch Winery while you are in the area too. Our own Donnie the Grill guy offers catering to your campsite. He's pretty famous around here for his grilled and smoked wings, mouthwatering meatloaf and baby back ribs piled high with two sides fresh from the garden. Just let us know if you would like to schedule your reservation. Fern Gulley Creekside Camping
A Summer Oasis
I don’t want to tell you how wonderful this place is because I want to keep it all to myself. However, this was one of the best campsites we have ever visited, and we will 100% be returning as soon as possible. The instructions were clear on how to find the place and the site is well maintained, level, clean, and gorgeous. You can tell it is loved by the owners and that they want folks to enjoy it. It is almost fully shaded all day long, which was fantastic for the summer and having kids running around. The creek was our favorite feature and I believe the kids would’ve stayed in there all day. It is next to a road with a tiny amount of traffic, and you can hear some neighborhood noises (vehicles, animals, etc), but we didn’t mind at all. The site has nice features like fire rings, picnic tables, and a lovely spring for drinking water. We had the best time and can’t wait to come back!

Fern Gully, the Reality
We tent camped at Fern Gully and loved it. They only allow one camp group at a time at their location, so it felt cozy and secluded. Fern Gully features a clean, clear creek perfect for wading with the kids, a small stream featuring delicious drinking water, precut firewood for free, and a natural spring that can be swam in. They also offer tours given by the owners. We went on the Herb Walk tour and thought it was great. They are in the process of finishing a cozy Treehouse that campers will be able to stay in and we given a tour of the unfinished house because we were so curious. It looks wonderful! We can't wait to come back when it's finished!! It will be a tremendous experience. The site is larger enough to play host to Church Groups looking to get away and connect with God, or a large group of friends looking to have a peaceful and tranquil time away from the stresses of modern life. There is no cell service apart from the WiFi offered via the Treehouse, but I assure you, you won't want to "stay connected" once you arrive.

Highly recommend!!
We stayed here last night with a group of 14, and it was absolutely perfect!!! The campsite is lovely- it’s situated between a hillside and a creek, and the kids were thoroughly entertained exploring both. This is beautiful country, and some of the best stargazing in Middle TN. We’ve stayed in over a dozen Hipcamps, and the tent sites are often a bit of an afterthought- not here! The hosts have really made it special with the lighting and fire pits. The toilet was clean and there are multiple flat tent spots. We also appreciated the gas stove- one less thing to pack! The most memorable part of our trip was the farm tour add on. We rode around on the ATV to meet all the animals, harvest hazelnuts and persimmons, feed the pigs, and milk Sugar the dairy cow. I also highly recommend ordering the dinner option. Donnie has some serious skills in the kitchen! We had ribs, meatloaf, okra, squash, potatoes, and green beans. The portions were generous- we all went to bed full and happy. Don’t hesitate to book this one- Morgan Branch is truly a special place. We came in mid November and will definitely return when it’s warmer. Thank you, Janet and Donnie!

Fern Gulley Creekside Camping
Beautiful campsite with a lovely creek that was shallow enough for our kids 3-7 years old to play in by themselves. The rope swing was quite the hit with our littles, too. The porta potty was as clean as they come and seemed to have been serviced recently. The host was responsive and kind in messages. We did have some trouble getting stakes into rocky ground, but we were able to find some places that worked. We had the whole area to ourselves, but I’m not sure I would want to camp here if there were other campers since the sites are close together. For the most part, it felt secluded other than being right off a road with a surprising amount of loud 4-wheeler and truck traffic late at night. We would definitely return here and enjoyed our stay!

Wow, what a magical place!
Our group loved tent camping at this spot! It was our first time camping and this place exceeded our expectations. It was very private and absolutely beautiful. The firewood provided and the unlimited fresh spring water you can drink was a huge plus. The drive there was gorgeous and the directions led us right to the camp spot.
