Craigie Knowe Vineyard is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We offer a Big Breakfast Thursday through to Monday. Needs to be booked on arrival. We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.Sites are allocated on arrival, with plenty of level ground, and all with lovely views and privacy. You'll be able to park up next to the Pinot Noir vines, a short walk to the cellar door area, where there are plenty of tables and chairs. Our Restaurant is open Thursday through to Monday each week for lunch. Sample menu is shown in photos. We also offer a big Breakfast Thursday through Monday, need to be booked on arrival. All guests need to be self-contained, with their own toilet please.

The campsite offers a spacious setting with lovely views of the vineyard, ideal for those seeking privacy and tranquility. Visitors praised the easy access to wine tastings and delightful meals at the nearby Flora's Restaurant. However, the site requires campers to be self-contained, which caught some guests by surprise, and some pointed out the lack of basic amenities and uneven ground. Overall, the peaceful vineyard setting and friendly hosts received positive notes, though improvements in facilities could enhance the experience.

I had a great night, the space is big and I found it well signposted, even arriving at night I was able to settle in well.

Quiet spot
Just a paddock but perfect for our purposes. Great hosts and loved our visits from Milo the Alsatian. Just a puppy but soft as.

Camping in the vineyard is a treat. So quiet & peaceful with the cellar door 100 metres away. Close to Freycinet NP. Glen & the staff were friendly & helpful. Will definitely come back when next in Tasmania.

Expensive for a cramped paddock
Tent · With pets
We were on the road desperate to find a place to camp with a tent and dogs, and when searching for Dog Friendly Tent sites, and this listing came up. It was not obvious that we needed to be self contained in the app, (as most tent campers are not) and since check-in was closed, we followed the signs on the road to find a basic large paddock. $30 per night seemed steep for a cramped field of campervans, with no trees or shade, but it was late, and we were desperate - and since we could see a port-o-loo on site, we booked the night online. Unfortunately, one minute later we found that the port o loo was not in use!! and only after we booked and paid did the app plainly show that the site required us to be 'self contained'. We left within 5 minutes of booking, but was not granted a refund. This location should not be listed as a Tent site.
