Bear Den is a small camp with 3 Glamping Tents, 2 cabins and shower house. Outdoor spaces for relaxing. We are located approximately 5 miles from Custer State Park, 11 miles from Keystone the Gateway to Mt. Rushmore in the beautiful southern Black Hills. Cabins have electricity, our tents do not have electricity. Cabins and showers are heated and open year round! All sites including 'bring your own tent' sites have access to the shower house and outdoor grilling areas. Pick a spot to pitch your own tent, one tent per space. If you have 2 tents please book 2 sites. We have 3 spots cleared. Hang your hammock in trees around the property. This option includes all access to the shower house and outdoor grilling areas!

Site 2 - Bear Den Hang and Stay
There aren’t enough words to describe how incredible my experience was here. Tammy greeted me with a bear hug like we had been friends for years. As a 23 year old solo traveller I’m always hesitant staying anywhere but a hotel, but I felt safer here. The amenities were fantastic and spotless clean. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone I know passing through South Dakota

Big Bear Cabin
Staying at Bear Den Cabins & Camps was an incredible experience! We originally planned to stay for 8 days, but loved it so much we ended up adding an extra day. Tammy’s hospitality was amazing—she made us feel completely safe and welcome. From the moment we arrived, she and Tim treated us like family, and by the time we left, we felt like we were leaving behind old friends. The cabins were spotless—honestly, the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed—and the property itself was absolutely gorgeous, with stunning views and plenty of wildlife. We can’t wait to come back!

Site 3 - Bear Den Hang and Stay
11/10, incredible experience
Bear Den is and absolute gem. Never have I felt so welcome and been so accommodated at a camp. Tammy is a an incredible human who is genuinely passionate about providing a beautiful and comfortable place for people to stay. Her pursuit of that goal is evident in everything there, from her delightful presence to the amenities she provides and meticulous maintenance of her property. Not only will you find the basics you need for a great stay, but everything is top-notch. The facilities are large, clean, and well-lit, the showers are hot, there’s and ice machine (filtered!), but if you need to top up your cooler, there’s a freezer full of bagged ice, simply above and beyond. I was able to do laundry (anyone camping for an extended period of time knows just how valuable this is!) and there’s a convenient sink for washing dishes with potable water. There are grills for cooking, fire pits, outdoor games, and a place to charge up devices if you need. I’m sure I’m forgetting more- truly everything has been thought of. There are also a variety of ways to stay; I was camping in the back of my pickup, and when a storm came through, Tammy offered to move me to a tent that was just about the coziest looking tent I’ve ever seen, with heat, and a real bed. There are cabins, too, and they seem to have the same attention to detail as everything else, not to mention cute as heck. I am extremely grateful to have stayed at Bear Den and even more so to have met Tammy. I will absolutely be back!
