Hanscombe Point Plantation is a 300 acre working farm that has been in the Legare family for 9 generations. We raise beef cows, heritage breeds of pigs, laying hens, and water buffalo.  Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year. Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm. We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods. There is also a lot of wildlife such as: wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators.  Fishing and crabbing are available on the salt water creek next to the campsite as well. We look forward to hosting you!

Playground site Charleston, SC area
We picked Linda's place because it was the perfect point in our coast line trip north to Top Sail NC. Linda texted us a day before with reminder and gate code. She also let us know to bring water in tanks if needed due to well issue. I thought that was very cool of her and it allowed us to come prepared. We stayed up front at near gate due to camper size and availability. Pulled in and out the next morning. Super dark, quiet and surprisingly private for being on the main road in. We would for sure stay here again for a lay over.

Hanscombe Point Plantation
This campsite was pretty, ground was level, and the location was excellent and very close to Charleston. Like others have stated, I would not attempt this camp with a low clearance vehicle....after a big rain I was nervous in my CRV. Personally, I would never camp here again because of the "God Bless America" (with a fetus and mother) sign near the campground. If you support women's rights, and do not support a fascist cult leader, I don't believe you are truly welcome on this property. It's a shame!

Awesome place!
This place is great! Truly unique. More private than most camp grounds I've been to. Very large shady sites. The friendly donkeys are a lot of fun. Host is very responsive and non intrusive. Creek is beautiful. If you are looking for a campground with concrete slabs right on top of each other and modern hotel bathrooms this isn't it. If you want something a little more rustic with tons of nature this is your place. We liked it so much we stayed another night and may stay another still.

Linda's farm was a great campsite! Only 20 minutes from Charleston proper, these secluded campsites were close to everything. The sites were easy to find, and the views were amazing. I would definitely come back the next time I am near Charleston.

Great stay!
I had a wonderful stay on Linda’s farm! The views were beautiful and the farm animals were a fun addition. I spent the morning hanging out with the friendly donkey and enjoying the peace and quiet. Will definitely stay again!
