The farm was once a portion of the McTureus Plantation. Tony's family members were once enslaved on the plantation. Upon Emancipation a family member bought land and it remained in the family. Tony is a descendant of those family members whose foresight allowed us to be here today. Tony's parents entrusted the care and preservation of the property to us and we are doing our best to be good stewards and teach the value of this property to our children and young grandchildren.

Perfect Location

Great campsite. It’s a great spot to have as home-base to see all the cool things the area has to offer. Perfect location. Belinda’s bread is also amazing! Highly recommend ordering some snacks ahead of time.

Very private, wooded and shady and plenty of space. Options for shower and bathroom, if needed. It was also close to town and beach, so perfect for what we needed.

Live Oak (Campsite 2)

So grateful to Belinda for sharing her land with the passerbys. I only stayed one night - got in around 2pm and left around 8am - but because of the proximity to Hunting Island State Park, I was still able to enjoy a full afternoon on the beach, a short hike, a marsh walk sunset, and a sunrise swim... felt like a full blown vacation. And coming home to a tent surrounded by sweet chickens and ducks clucking songs to you isn't half bad :)

Live Oak (Campsite 2)

Peaceful setting; friendly, helpful, but unobtrusive hosts; water and electric worked well; location is very handy to Hunting Island Park Beach. Will stay again.
