Camp Moondog is a 36-acre forested property hosting 3 campsites in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina. Flanked on either side by the Saluda River (almost half a mile of river frontage!), this property is a must-book for nature lovers visiting the area or Greenvillians just looking for a getaway for some woods and river merriment. This property is located right across the river, or a short 5-minute drive to Dolly Cooper State Park that draws in disc-golf enthusiasts and park explorers alike. Camp moondog is only a 10-minute drive from the world-renowned Downtown Greenville, a destination known for its excellent restaurants, festivals, shopping, and social scene. Being situated so close to the city-center means that food delivery is just a click away, and running out for that last-minute necessity is a breeze. This is a unique opportunity to get “off the grid” without having to make those ‘off the grid’ sacrifices. At Camp Moondog, our philosophy is to offer a carefree, clean, natural environment for a relaxing camping vacation experience. We will be happy to use our ATV's to assist with getting your supplies to any of the campsites--just shoot us a message on the app if you need help! Because there is always ample deadfall all over the property for firewood collection, pre-packaged firewood bundles are not supplied or available for sale. Please take this into consideration if there has been recent rainfall. We look forward to hosting you here at Camp Moondog. Happy Trails! ~Mike and Kelly

The Bend
We double boondocked with friends!
This was our second time staying at The Bend. Our friends booked The Fern Gully and the awesome owners let them stay in a camper next to us at the Bend! The owners don’t mind generators, they say they can’t hear them. They installed a new gravel drive down to the Bend (and other sites) so it was super easy to pull in/out even if it rains. Our kids had so much fun! It’s about a 4 min walk from The Bend over to The Fern Gully where you can put rafts into the river (there’s natural steps from the creek). Or you can walk 100 yards down the trail along the river (past the super cool new cabin they are building up on the hill) and climb down with ropes tied to a couple trees and enter there. This spot is so cool you can hang out there all day tying off to a hook installed in a rock that’s pretty easy to get to. Lucky the rocks are not slippery. It was soooo nice floating down the river even though it looked muddy from heavy rain the night before. It takes about 35 minutes to float down the river, and then about 5-7 minute to walk to the starting spot again with your rafts. Can’t wait to come back and do it again! The cabin and bus they’re working on look so cool! Can’t wait to stay in those as well.

Fern Gully
All around great spot!
We loved our stay at Mike & Kelly's magical property. We had the absolute best view from the site, really great privacy. Only the sounds of the frogs and crickets at night. site has great shade & mushrooms all around. They where so great to us during our stay. Really helpful to us, sweet to our wild kiddo, and went the extra mile so that we would have the best adventure during our stay. We will definitely come again & recommend the place for others. Thanks again guys!

The Far Out
10/10 will be back!
My family and I absolutely LOVED this place! Mike and Kelly were very personable and quick to answer any questions we had. Mike actually helped us take our gear out to the site and bring it back to our cars when we were ready to leave. He was a HUGE HELP! The property is gorgeous and campsites are very private. You feel completely secluded but are close (within 5-10 minutes) of gas stations and grocery stores. We went out on the concrete slab and waded in the river. Recommend life jackets for kids but it was really nice! Even has ropes and a tie off spot on a rock for tubes or tie offs on the trees for doggos who want to be in the water but you don’t want to go too far. Amazing place to feel one with nature but still close to home! 10/10 will be back again!

Fern Gully
A honey hole of a camping spot
The dog and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Moondog Campground. We stayed at Ferm Gully....such a sweet spot on the river. Mike and Kelly were super sweet and even texted to check on us during a bad thunderstorm. I will definitely be back again!! And the dog gives a huge thumbs up!!! He loved being off the leash.

Fern Gully
River Camping at its best
We loved our 3 nights at Fern Gully. It was very private with a gorgeous view of the river. Our dogs enjoyed cooling off in the summer heat, though the spot never got that hot due to all the shade of the trees! Mike even let us know about a swimming area that is just perfect within walking distance and we enjoyed that a few times. It’s nice that it’s close to Greenville downtown. Would definitely come back here!
