Best in South Carolina: 2nd place
Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
This Property was purchased by Grandfather in the 70s  and then was passed to my Mother. In 2013 I decided to live life differently and start from the ground up building with natural materials and found materials. At that time I was fortunate enough to have the land passed to me and I started building a home for myself and to be close to my mothers home nearby. After achieving the basics I decided that the best use of this beautiful land was to create a place for people to relax and enjoy, a park like environment dedicated to preserving natural beauty and amplifying it through a permaculture lifestyle. 8 years later I am blown away at how far the dream has become a reality and love sharing my space with people from all over the country.

When the weather app says “no rain”
We stayed at Damon’s land for the weekend. While it wasn’t exactly what we expected, Damon was very friendly and accommodating. The highlight for our kids was the swing, and although the swimming hole only had some water in it, they still enjoyed it. Damon offered us two different spots to stay, and we chose a beautiful site up on the hill, surrounded by woods. It was spacious with plenty of trees, perfect for hanging hammocks. Being in nature, we did encounter quite a few spiders, but that’s to be expected. We weren’t right next to other campers, but we could see their tents, though we still had plenty of privacy and were not bothered by anyone. The only downside was that our site didn’t have a fire pit grill for cooking, but luckily we brought our own. Overall, it’s a great place to stay if you’re okay with sharing common areas with other campers. It would also be a great spot for someone new to tent camping.

Site 1 - Spring Creek Valley
Not your typical campground which is what we were wanting. Booked site 1 which is a small site right on the creek. . Our 6 person tents were too big for the site but made it work. The site does state for 6 people but probably two 2-3 person tents. One tent site was across the creek. Had to go up and down a small incline to get to the site. Parking was fairly close but not right at the site. Composite toliet was fairly close right by parking. There are several on the property. After talking with Damon probably should of book a general booking site then pick where we set-up. This was my first time booking with Hipcamp. Damon was a great host and very responsive.

The Creekhouse
Nice short stay
We didn’t stay as long as we expected due to incoming storms. We stayed in the tiny creek house over the creek. The kids really liked the swimming hole to cool off in after we unpacked. They also liked Damon’s golf cart and being able to take turn riding it with other kids. We had intended to explore more the during the afternoon of our first full day, but left early.

Not my jam
Wasn’t my jam. Very hippie commune feel and it seemed as if some of these campers actually lived there full-time.
