We have a pretty magical farm in rural West Greenwich. We are only about 10 mins from I-95 but we are nestled in the woods. Fall asleep to the sound of crickets and cicadas and wake up to birds chirping and our rooster crowing . It is certainly a peaceful, quiet, private area. Our site has a waste-bag toilet (must take waste with you), an extension cord and a sink. The site is located in a quiet field where you will often find deer grazing in the morning and afternoon.
We are a young farming family. Our dream is to build a cidery on this property in future years. We have started to plant our orchard with cider apple varieties, about 650 dwarf apple trees, and we are also growing some flowers and squash at the moment. We currently have six pigs and nine chickens on the farm. Eggs and cuts of pork are available for purchase, just ask! Feel free to walk around the farm, just be respectful, don't leave anything behind, and be aware that some areas have poison ivy (the field where you are staying does not have any).Come camp in our secluded Firefly Field and soak in some nature. This field is surrounded by trees to give you a private space of your own. There are often deer grazing in the morning and afternoon hours and you will surely see plenty of birds and other wildlife as well. Expect to fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and cicadas in the summer and wake to the songs of birds and the crow of our rooster. You are welcome to walk around, visit with the pigs (seasonal) and chickens, and check out our high density apple orchard. We also have Cut Your Own Zinnias in the summer months.
Centrally located in RI! Drive 30 minutes North to Providence, 30 minutes South to Narragansett Beach, 20 minutes East to Historic Wickford Village. Plenty of hiking and mountain biking trails just minutes away - Big River Management Area and Cuttyhunk Brook Preserve are right down the road!
There is a camping toilet for solid waste only. It is lined with a bag and you MUST carry this out with you.
Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome. You must pick up after your dog!! We have a dog and toddler as well as a cat, chickens, and pigs so your dog MUST be well-trained and friendly.
Pork and eggs from our farm are available upon request. There are more cuts available, but some options are available for purchase through hipcamp. Please provide ample notice so we are able to provide these items to you upon your arrival. Send a message for more details!
Camp fires in the provided fire ring are only allowed during appropriate conditions. Please wet down the surrounding area thoroughly before starting and soak the fire once done.
I will need some notice to hook up the sink to water, run the extension cord out there, as well as to get the site mowed and ready. The sink’s water is potable and located at the site.
Things to note: Please be careful of poison ivy while roaming the farm and be sure to do a tick check. Bring bug spray in the warmer months, we are in the woods with some wetlands behind us. We are a working farm, so we may be out on the tractors getting some work done, sometimes in the early morning hours.
Please be courteous and plan to arrive prior to 10pm. Please let us know your ETA upon booking.
