Mount Elliot Park is a working cattle property that offers a bush experience to approved individuals. Located in the Burdekin Shire we are based in one of Australia’s best Barra fishing and bird watching areas. Sites are based on a slashed grassed paddock with access to a clear flowing creek. Campers can relax with open fire and surrounded by the beautiful mountain backdrop.
Very open sites with steep access/short walk to creek. Not the clearest signage however only relatively small paddock so can’t get lost. Creek was running and nice and cool. Natalee was very quick to respond with any questions.
Not a big fan of this spot, but the cows and the creek nearby was nice.
Super muddy so was a bit of a struggle to get our van in. I recommend arriving when its light outside - we arrived in the dark and there wasn’t really any signage and was hard to see where the “mowed” tracks were.
We came to stay for 2 nights ended up staying a week we loved it. Bush camping at its best and throw in the running creek was beautiful to seat in all day. Definitely will be back. Thank you
Perfect spot. Loads of room for the camper trailer. No neighbours. Beautiful running creek. And the stars, what a view. It was what we were after, peace and quiet and a recharge. Will be doing 2 nights next time. Very convenient from Townsville. “Loved it “ would be an understatement.
Well marked, large grassed areas. Minimal to nil established shade on camp Site.
Good distance between sites with some natural privacy.
Site 1 had established track down to stream- deep enough to get wet & cool down, shady, clean & cool.
