In the small rural town of Millaroo, you will find nestled around sugar cane, horses & a small herd of quiet cattle, a laid back bush camp in a paddock by two dams on the bank of Millaroo Creek. Here you can bird watch, take leisurely walks down to the creek, enjoy a spot of fresh water fishing/red-clawing, launch the kayak where you may spot the odd fresh water crocodile or sit and relax in tranquility on the creek bank. During harvesting season you may visit regular cane fires in the local area, and may be even lucky enough to catch the burn straight across from the campground! The local Millaroo Social Club is a short ten minute drive, where meals are served most Friday nights. The Burdekin river is also a short drive away where you can access the river closer to the township of Millaroo by 4WD for an afternoon barbecue & fish! Campground offers plenty of fresh water for drinking & filling tanks, does requires campers to be self contained & is pet friendly providing they are supervised at all times.

Comfortable
Friendly host. Clean and peaceful. Cows to feed, bring some carrots or apples. Horses as well. Lots of wildlife.

Dam Camp
This camp is a little hidden treasure in the bush. Bruno made us feel so welcome even with the short notice we gave him. There's a perfect little spot down by the bigger dam with a boat the kids can paddle down the dam on. It was peace & quiet and perfect place to relax for the night by the fire! We will definitely be back! Thanks Bruno!

Creek Camp
We had a great time camping at Bruno and Sally's property, they are great hosts & wonderful people. We camped on the creek, very peaceful with lots of birdlife. We would certainly camp there again.

Paddock Camp
We had a fantastic time at Gumtree Rest. The area was beautifully maintained with green grass and shady trees. There was heaps of bird life and we enjoyed watching the birds and hearing all of the bird songs. It was lovely to see all the stars at night and the peace and tranquility was wonderful. The Hosts were lovely and very friendly. We will definitely be visiting again.
