The property has been in the Monge family since the late 1940's bought by Jose Monge Marquez. The campsite is located in a private property in the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees. The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits. The local attractions are: -El Yunque National Rainforest 15 minute drive up the mountain. -Las Paylas rockslides (2 minute drive & 8 minutes walking). -The Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Barneario de Luquillo. Los Kioskos de Luquillo, ect. (10 minutes drive). We look forward to hosting you!

Tent for 4 people
Nice and clean set up, complete with towels, fresh sheets, lighting for the tent, and toiletries! The grounds are beautiful and have everything you need for an overnight camping trip. I would defintely recommend it for a night out in nature that has some comfort elements to make it easy, like a bathroom, running water, fire pit, picnic table and showers.

Campamentos en borde del Rio Sabana
This was our second time staying at Hacienda Monte Rey and without a doubt it is the best camping spot! Clean and well maintained. The river is beautiful and so are the grounds. The bathroom facilities were in excellent conditions. The location is perfect right next to Las Pailas and a few minutes away from Luquillo beaches and kiosks. We love staying here because it is peace fun and our puppy has the best time exploring the area. Definitely will be staying here again!

Riverside Tree Tent Campsite
Really cool and quiet. The rainforest was loud at night but we were able to sleep just fine. The river is warm, and the property is beautiful!
