Glen and Bern are phenomenal hosts, thanks for checking in on us to make sure everything was great. Spot continues to improve every year. Look forward to our 4th year returning in 2025!

Really nice place to camp. Easy access. Decided to camp during a fire ban. Glad we did. Made do.

Had a great time. Quiet and secluded. Pretty and deep in the woods. Good fire pit and tables. Thank you

Primitive site 2
Nice site and friendly hosts!
Glen & Bernadette were very friendly and helpful with responses and questions about the area. The site was nicely maintained and had a campfire, grill pit w grate, picnic table and extra chairs and a flat site for a tent. The road is close by but up a very steep hill so tough for dogs or kids to wander up it … only small drawback being that you can hear cars going by but few at night and it’s because it’s at the top of the hill for a great view of the valley, like being on a mountain top … hence “The Lookout”.
So great hosts and spot just as advertised, thanks guys!

Primitive site 2
The site is private and hidden from sight, but you would not believe how much road noise impacts the experience. I knew there would be some from other reviews... but really, truly, it's quite loud!
Also, the weather was completely disconnected from the weather at "New Tripoli." We got non stop 24/hrs of downpouring rain while the weather reports said there was no rain happening at all. There was not a moment of break in the rain the entire time we stayed. It must be in a microclimate of its own or something, and I know the weather isn't the host's fault, but genuinely it does impact how I view the site. It can downpour endlessly here with nothing on the forecast and nothing in the reports as it's happening. (For clarification, there was no old hurricane effecting us, etc.)
And while we were there, we had no view whatsoever. We couldn't see 50 yards through the rain and fog! This site, without the view, is not great. Can't go to the lake either in these conditions. And there is not much else on the site to do if weather isn't great, though the road noise drones on Again can't blame the hosts, but not every campsite loses so much by losing a view. And you might not know ahead of time.

This was my second time staying at The Lookout. I will definitely be back. The site was clean and the view is spectacular. Thank you!
