Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
Moved here in 2002 with my boy, Handicapped individual (Ray Ray) Downs Syndrome He enjoyed the horses and the animals , It made him laugh (which was intoxicating) It was then that the obvious joy he got had to be shared. We have several friends in the area that had children with Disabilities we decided to start our (Double Rainbow Farm) (the farms name came from the numerous DOUBLE RAINBOWS over this farm) our families joined together and created the non profit. The mission was to assist all children in our area an affordable place for their children to gain and prosper from the benefits of the horses and the farm animals. Some say there is something else here, you cannot see ,you can only feel when you come to this property, there is a sense of peace and tranquility. If you are looking for a place to come and meet people from all walks of life this is it. Though there were many changes in the program, (main barn burning to the ground in 2008) dropping our non profit status, The loss of Ray Ray in 2016 we still continue to operate the therapeutic riding program (for Ray Ray), pony ,rides ,weddings, pony camps ,Birthday parties , and just a place were you can escape we are looking forward to this new adventure My partner (George and I ) are looking forward to meeting new friends and Family in this adventure.

Camping with horses
We stayed in one of the cabins. The bed setup was perfect. We were surprised that a mini fridge, mirror, etc were included. The host also had a indoor/outdoor patio area near the main house that had treats for kiddos and drinks for adults. The host were very accommodating and available to answer questions. Their farm hands were very helpful and gave some lessons on animal keeping to my kids which was Sooo kind. I would recommend this farm for families.

I think we were one of the last people to stay at the farm before it transferred to the new owners. We first found the farm at the start of covid and it was love at first sight. One of my girls has autism and Milton was so patient and understanding. Coming back a second time---the girls made themselves at home. They rode horses, swam and kayaked in the pond, played with the barn cats, and even did some farm chores. We made smores by campfire, wandered with the horses when they grazed and went into town for ice cream. I wish the new owners best of luck and I hope they keep it as welcoming and comfortable a place as it is now. We will certainly be back again. It truly is a special place. It IS a farm with rustic-ish amenities. There is dirt and bugs and an outhouse. All of that just adds to the experience.

We had a wonderful time at Milton’s place. My family of four, kids 4/6, felt right at home on the farm. Interacting with the animals and spending time at the pond was second to none. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing time here! My dogs, fiance and I all enjoyed everything this place had to offer. The owners of the property are such awesome and wonderful people. I highly recommend staying for at least 3 nights if you can.

Best hipcamp experience of all time
This was an incredible experience. So many animals to pet, so much laughter shared with Milton, George, and other guests around the fire. Absolutely gorgeous property and overlook.

Kindest camping ever
This farm is among the loveliest places on earth. We rented both cabins and camped with six kids ages 4-13, they frolicked in the pond (in late May), kayaked, ran wild and free, fell in love with kittens, rode horses, and we went to town to see fireworks at night. Milton was so welcoming and warm. Everything was perfect.
