Tumalo Oasis
If you need a little running water and a comfy spot to rest your head outside of Bend, then book Judy’s Honey Bee Ranch. We were exhausted from exploring all day and came back to the ranch for peace and quiet and some incredible wildlife.

HoneyBee Ranch of Tumalo
The Honeybee Ranch is a terrific place to stay when you want to be close to nature but don’t want to rough it in the wilderness. The bunkhouse is situated on a lovely farm property that backs up to 500 acres of land, but is close to the town of Tumalo where you can find a bite to eat or a cider. (can walk there through the back of the property if you wanted!). We stayed there 2 nights to enjoy some Oregon high desert hiking. Judy and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. The Bunkhouse is super cozy on the inside, and we enjoyed the nature views from the deck. The recent addition of a back room to the bunkhouse provided a little more space and comfort. We will stay here again on a future visit to the area to hike or cross country ski in the wintertime!

Best of both worlds: city & country
The Honey Bee Ranch was everything we hoped for, and then some! A cozy little spot surrounded by gorgeous Juniper trees and plenty of space to explore. A stone’s throw from Bend, it’s a quick drive to excellent restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. Judy and Mike were kind and welcoming. We look forward to returning!

HoneyBee Ranch of Tumalo
Local gem
We returned to the Honey Bee ranch mostly because of the great location and gracious hosts. Mike, Judy and their daughter Missy, are hosts who know how to balance attention to their guests while providing a feeling solitude. The bunkhouse is a rustic shelter that provides a camping experience with comfy mattresses and simple amenities. We came for 3 nights which allowed us to park the car and hop on our road bikes to enjoy the absolutely breathtaking experience of riding around Tumalo; avoiding the crowds and tourism of Bend. The Bite—a local food truck court is walkable and bike-friendly—and easily 5 minutes away by car. The property sits between Bend and Sisters—so we enjoyed both small cities and floated the river as well. Highly recommend!
