Forest Camping Area Site 1
I had a wonderful time staying at Spirits Grove, I was on a solo camping trip & felt very safe. Upon arrival I was greeted by Richard and my tour guide Lucy, the sweet boarder collie, she was a great companion and followed me everyone where I went, I loved it. You have to walk over to the campsite, and I was sleeping in my van so Richard let me park my van near the bunk house. The horses were out and roaming around, but didn’t come up to me because I mostly sat near my van or in my hammock that I set up near one of the pretty trails in the woods. I had a great stay, I recommend it!

Make sure you sign the consent forms before you get there. This place is not for everyone, it’s very primitive so if that’s what you’re looking for it’s perfect

Unique Experience Worth the Drive!
Be sure and GPS to the actual address. The dirt road was unexpected but I guess not surprising? Don’t wash your vehicle beforehand lol. The barn is the green tin building on the left when you pull in. We arrived and were greeted by Richard, who showed us around and set us up with a great camp spot for our family. They facilitated safe contact with the animals and our kids. Lucy the border collie is sweet but young, so if you have littles, be aware she wants to play! lol our daughter thought she was a bear jumping through the trees to our camp lol, they were buds by the end of the stay. The porter potty’s are amazing and a nice authentic piece of the experience, as are the outdoor showers. It looks like they’re working on a sauna, and perhaps soaking tubs too. I loved watching them care and love on all the animals, most of which they’ve saved from neglect and injuries. The fire pit is AWESOME! It’s up near the main area of the property, but they gave us privacy. We really appreciated the effort and we will be back in the future. Haag lake isn’t far and was incredible for beating the heat. Oh! And the hike down to the beaver dam is beautiful…really pretty flowers and unique foliage…and wild red and orange raspberries and salmon berries!

I really had the 3 bests nights of sleep on this land that I’ve had for awhile. Welcoming and kind hosts have made this space into a well intentioned and peaceful space. Recommended for anyone and it has the capacity to host events too.

Forest Yurt
Peaceful spot
Such a peaceful spot! The yurt was very cozy with amenities as described. Outhouse was in top condition. Lovely birdsong everywhere! We really enjoyed getting to meet the friendly animals. My friend and I were there for a long trail run so we were too tired to explore the grounds thoroughly but it looked like there were plenty of nice places to wander on the property.

Absolutely lovely property. Kind and attentive staff. Heartwarming animals. Campsite was very private. Put to sleep by a serenade of all manner of birdsong (including two separate owls), and woke up to the same. Walking trails well kept. I’ll be back!
