This 10 acres sheep ranch is located remotely in sea of wheat fields. Our upland high desert location (2500ft elevation) is full views, isolation and stars that consume the night sky. The Horseshoe House is within easy travel distance of 3 major rivers, ghost towns, fossil beds, solar and wind farms, and historical towns like Antelope oregon that were featured in a Netflix special named " Wild Wild Country ". Just show up and enjoy the nothing that is our oasis for your pleasure to slow down, breath and maybe pet a sheep.Set your base camp on our pastured grass land with views of the breaks of the John Day River and Blue Mountains. Watch for ranging sheep, roaming elk, antelope, deer and even a resident raven family. Points for you, if Petunia the pig comes up for a visit. Flat camp with 100 mile view.

Perseids star gazing
We got exactly what we were looking for - a remote location to look up at the sky during the meteor shower. Excellent communication with the hosts and friendly vibes overall. This is a gorgeous location, with a spectacular sunset on the drive in - I always love driving through this area and it was a pleasure to sleep in this random field. Thank you!
