Green Crest is an active Memorial Park (cemetery) adjacent to Highway 18 between Portland and the Oregon coast on the South side of Sheridan. This property makes a great stop over while en route to your final destination, but is also a great getaway if you'd just like to relax in a natural setting while having conveniences near by. If you have young ones, the park next door has a playground and a stocked fish pond. We also have a pond on sight that is perfect for viewing birds, beaver and having morning coffee. You're also welcome to bring your kayak and or paddle boards to get out on the water for fishing or just floating the pond. There is the occasional Deer, coyote and raccoons all around on the property. Two minutes from your site, you will find 24 hour gas and diesel; Subway, Riverside Cafe, Bennie Huies Chinese and the local Grocery store. Did I say there is a Dairy Queen 5 minutes way? Nearby Ballston Road offers a great rural road system from which to explore by bicycle. Points of interest both out in the wild and more metro are all within an hour drive. We can direct you to some little known sites that offer a great day trip.Park your rv on the improved lot which is positioned to allow a view of the cascade range (on a clear day); wander the property and find a nice place to relax and read a book either by the pond or on the east facing hill. The Small pond offers bass, bluegill and yellow perch -- not easy to access, so bring boots. A nice float in your kayak is fun as well (launch site is primitive). There is a city park south of us about 2 minutes which has stocked fish pond and a playground for children. We are a working cemetery and you may enjoy reading grave stones and even looking for relatives. You will have this space to yourself, though there is a caretaker close by.

Cemetery Camping! Very peaceful.
This site is so unique, being on the edge of a graveyard. There only one site available, so we were alone, other than the host who maintains and lives on the cemetery ground. The host greeted us and told us a bit about the history of the area and special headstones. Our dogs were allowed to roam free outside of our camper, with only cats living on the property. Very cool place to spend the night.

Small and private
Great little campsite! Actually set up a large tent on the RV pad and it worked out perfect for getting some offsite job work done. Joel was an exceptional host and always made sure that my needs were met. Although there was a little bit of road noise from the highway, the view of the Cascade mountains was fantastic.

Joel’s property is one of our favorite Hipcamp spots. Great view, secluded, but still close to town. Wifi, fishing, fire pit. Love it here.

This paved RV spot was a perfect writing perch. Lovely views out over the water watching birds.

Unique hipcamp
Before arriving at night we grabbed delicious pizza to go at Honey Pie 20 minutes away in McMinnville. We parked our campervan on a pretty level cement pad, didn't get to use the fire pit. Thankfully we had window covers otherwise the bright light would have annoyed us. There is road noise in the distance. The morning was lovely to wake up to a frosty covered cemetery and large fishing pond. There appears to be a retention center across from parking pad, but we had no issues. Verizon signal was strong.
