Antiquated property with a 100 plus year-old cabin, and undeveloped nature. Our family has been making improvements to the land for over 5 years. A slow process of cleaning, building and enjoying the serene and calming ambiance. Flat areas accessible with vehicles, trailers and rv's around the lower road/entry. Plenty of private tent spaces on the hillsides and among trees.

Turn About Camping
Sleeping in the junkyard.
If you want to stay in a turnaround in a pretty part of the country but surrounded by trash and junk and having cars drive right by you at 2:45 am, this is your place. This place does not seem to meet other Hipcamp standards. We tried a bit to find another place to stay but this was a busy weekend. The old dilapidated cabin was charming, but the trash, junk, rusted or rotting building tear down material, and the tall weeds with burrs, that were surrounding the space, made it hard to enjoy the peace and quiet. There is a small group of folks camping on the other side of the cabin who were mostly quiet but did drive in or out while we were sleeping both nights.

Lots of Potential! Needs some TLC
This campsite is full of potential! Located just a 10-min drive from Hood River on a beautiful property, we were really appreciative to snag it last minute on Labor Day weekend. Ari, the host, was great - super communicative and made sure we found it and checked in okay. A few things to note… There is quite a bit of trash surrounding the campsite. You camp in a parking turnaround between some cool, old dilapidated buildings and an old trailer - however there was a lot of trash (old car parts, scrap wood / construction supplies, buckets & junk from the buildings) that is all around. I’m guessing this property is new to the owner & a work in progress, but we weren’t expecting to be among so much trash. Especially as there was some broken glass / screws on the ground in the main camping area. The creek isn’t year-round, when we camped in September it was dry. As mentioned above, you do setup camp in a parking pull out. There was plenty of room for 3 couples & 2 dogs. Overall - we had a great time & think with a bit more work this place could be really special. The location was great for quick access to all the fun stuff in the area & the property itself has tons of charm. I think a few more photos of the campsite & areas surrounding camp would be really helpful so people know what they’re getting into as well as lower the price until it’s been cleaned up some more - with the glass & screws being addressed asap for safety reasons.

I loved staying here! It felt very private and the buildings on the property were cool. Having potable water nearby was a huge convenience! Ari checked in with us regularly and was informative and attentive. There are no bathrooms which was fine by me, but may not be for everyone. Overall, great site! Would book again
