Welcome to your base camp for adventure! Enjoy coming back to this peaceful clearing in the forest after a long day exploring the Sweet Home area; considered the "Gateway to the Santiam Playground" With multiple lakes, rivers, and the cascade mountains nearby there's plenty to keep your clan busy. Lewis Creek Park and Foster Lake are within walking distance across the street and provide a great designated swimming area and public boat docks. Home of the Oregon Jamboree! McConnell Base-camp is just a 5 minute drive into town, the small town of Sweet Home is home to the Oregon Jamboree festival. The Oregon Jamboree is the Northwest's premier country music festival. Nestled in the foothills of the scenic cascade mountains, the Oregon Jamboree is held on 20+ acre park-like setting that includes the historic Weddle Covered Bridge. The Jamboree offers a full festival atmosphere in the main venue and a more intimate concert experience on the second stage. The festival draws attendees from all over the United States, and has hosted many international visitors as well. Please make yourselves at home and enjoy our property that has been in the family since the 60s.

    Foster Lake Base Camp
    Location to the lake and the nearby town was fantastic. The property has a nice covered area to park your car or keep your things under during adverse weather conditions. Nick was extremely responsive and helpful throughout my stay, I definitely will be back!

    Beautiful Site next to Foster
    We absolutely loved staying on Nick’s land! It’s on his property, but we were able to find a secluded spot off to the side to pitch and even had our own little trail, that we were told used to be a horse wagon trail. We had good trees for a hammock and there were facilities for a fire, but they were not allowed at this time. The property is right across the road from Foster and we were able to find a swimming spot & place to launch our kayak just around the corner from the site. It was an amazing experience & it felt nice to be secluded but not too far from town. Thank you to Nick, we’re excited for our next stay!
