Welcome to Fernwood Retreat at Bloom Hill Farms tucked away in the rolling hills of the coastal mountains. We call it Fernwood because of the beautiful ferns and forest area throughout our 8-acre farm. We currently offer three sites that are private and secluded. We are off the beaten path with no road traffic or light pollution which makes the night sky and stars so vibrant it looks like you could reach out your hand and touch them. Wake up in the morning, make some coffee and stroll the walking paths along the property. Sit on the creek side bench and soak in the sounds of the birds chirping or just listen to the water flow. Take a stroll through Fern Gully and listen to the squirrels chatter. We offer a meditation area, a communal fire pit, lighted paths, farm fresh eggs, seasonal veggies, a pond and even a big swing! We are situated in the beautiful Southern Willamette Valley and close to many award winning wineries like Bluebird Hills Cellars and Broadley Vineyards, breweries like Long Timber Brewing Company, hiking, waterfalls, mountain bike trails and just an hour away from the Pacific Ocean. William J. Finely Wildlife Preserve is just a few miles up the road as is the historic Hull-Oakes Lumber Mill. And my neighbor is Lainey Morse founder of Original Goat Yoga!! We provide a charging station/electricity, port-o-potty, potable well water and each site has a picnic table.

A magical place
I don’t often write reviews, but Petra’s Hipcamp location was quite spectacular. From the welcome that we received from the two dogs, Through to the relaxing evening we had under the trees. It’s Impossible to say it was anything other than perfect. It would’ve been great to have a campfire, but it’s fire ban season here in Oregon, But honestly, as much as I love a campfire, we are more than happy to sit In the Adirondack chairs and relax. I can guarantee that Petra will be seeing more of us in the future. One small note, Petra is an amazing host and for the people who visited previously and damaged some of the infrastructure, I honestly don’t know who brought you up to be so disrespectful. This Hipcamp Is a magical place and should be treated as such.

A Treasure
Petra’s farm is always a delight! This is our second time camping here for Labor Day weekend and it’s just as charming as last year. Enjoy the farm fresh eggs, enthusiastic doggos and pretty scenery and remember to be kind and respectful guests.

Hillside
The property was easy to find and is located in a lovely part of the Willamette Valley. Petra was kind when she stopped by on the second day. Our site, Hillside, was located close to the neighbors’ house and we listened to their TV until midnight. It was tricky to find a level spot for our tents - we ended up moving the picnic table to make space for one tent while the other one was pitched on a slant. The description suggests that the site is a working farm although it appears to have largely gone fallow. Our site did not come with the Adirondack chairs or eggs mentioned in the description. It was not an unpleasant stay, but not one I would seek out again.
