Great spot

Chill basic spot. Perfect stop over for my drive from mt Rainer NP to Reno, by way of the Oregon coast of course!

14 ft pop-up camper
Decent spot to pull through for the night. You are much closer to the river than you would think. You are right above an area on the river where birds come in and it was very cool and neat. The pizza place in walking distance was excellent and the coffee/lunch place was so so cool. Apparently they will be moving closer to the highway soon so not sure if walkable then but what a great place.

Beautiful river and grass
16 ft travel trailer · Group trip
We enjoyed the lovely view of the river and grassy lawn from our packed gravel perch driveway where we parked our 16’ camper and truck. Perfect spot for our rig. DeeDee (Deidre) is a nice and helpful woman and helped us try to park in grass but tents would be best on lower grass level and parking our camper was better and easier on top level. The roads don’t have much traffic or noise. The restaurants are very easy to walk to and have great food. Breakfast at Atom Bistro was excellent They even have a separate Glutenfree menu. The 138 Grill has a good menu for lunch and dinner but closes at 8:00 pm but has takeout too. We would have stayed longer at Dee Dee’s but had reservations the next day in Lassen. We will stay here again, especially to fish in the North Umpqua River area.

Beautiful
Tent
Out of all three of the hipcamps we stayed during our trip this week, DD’s was by far our favorite. If you want an authentic local experience this is the place for you. Location was great, it’s off the road but it still feels very private, with plenty of space/options to pitch up your tent. It’s right on the river and we got the chance to go for a swim and it was so beautiful. The water felt great and we felt so rejuvenated afterwards. DD’s property is beautiful and has this magical vibe to it. Falling asleep listening to the river was divine. She also has a sweet puppy who we just adored named Rojo. DD is an amazing and thoughtful host with great stories. I highly recommend this listing, and can’t wait to come back.

Overall it was a great place to camp. It was closer to the road than I was expecting, but that comes with the convenience of being near a coffee shop and restaurant. The views of the river and landscape were beautiful. DD is very friendly and happy to share information about the area if needed.
