Raina is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Nathaniel and Raina Potter purchased this 30-acre ranch in 2016 and aptly named it "Big Rock Ranch." The modest ranch layout with the wildly immodest views of a giant rock outcropping jutting out of coyote butte was the immediate draw and continual wonder to Nathaniel, Raina, and all who visit. Big Rock Ranch runs cattle in the irrigated pastures and chickens for meat and eggs. Stay at Big Rock Ranch...Stay in a 12x14 ft canvas tent on a working regenerative family farm in the high desert. Enjoy views of a 300+ ft Tuff rock formation, Cascade Mountains, and irrigated pasture views all from the tent. Cook your own meals in the outdoor kitchen, outfitted with propane burners and a sink. Eat meals from the tent deck or the picnic table under native junipers surrounded by sagebrush, bitterbrush, and native grasses and tuff boulders. Collect farm fresh eggs and greens seasonally with the opportunity to enjoy meat raised at the ranch. One queen bed in a canvas tent, one folding cot, and access to a 2-person tent if needed to accommodate a family or two couples. Bedding is NOT supplied beyond the queen bed. Recreation Activities: Limited hiking available onsite but only 8 minutes from Smith Rock State Park for hiking and climbing. Only 25 minutes from Lake Billy Chinook for water recreating. Just 15 minutes from mountain biking at Skull Hollow. A 10-minute drive to swimming in the Deschutes River at Borden Beck Wildlife Preserve. Bend and Sisters are both 30-minutes away. Night rates are offerings to our family and ranch.

Sweetest Tiny
Such a sweet tiny house. The land is so peaceful and Raina and her family are the sweetest. Highly recommend staying in this little gem.

Lovely Tiny Home Farm Stay
Upon arriving at the tiny home on the farm, we were greeted by the hosts and their pups. We had a wonderful stay, took in the beautiful amazing views of the surrounding landscapes at sunset and explored the farm area. Overall, the tiny home is a sweet getaway for two with a cozy pellet fire inside and a loft with a queen bed. We got to enjoy a delightful breakfast made with farm-fresh eggs given by the hosts and played card games on the corner table. Would be happy to stay here again!

Absolutely gorgeous property. Fun with so many animals. The tent and cooking situation were great and the bed was super comfy. Great experience. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time.

Camping with a bonus!
What a wonderful little get away! Not only were the accommodations great, but the hosts were so friendly and inviting! We were entertained by the goats, gifted eggs from their chickens, and we got to learn about their practices on regenerative farming! Very entertaining, educational, and beautiful!

It was a pleasure to stay on Raina's land and meet her family! Waking up to the goats perched on the rocks was a real treat -- and the stargazing was lovely. Even as the season gets chilly we were very cozy in the elk tent. It was so helpful to have access to a sink with running water and an extension cord for my friend's bipap machine. Would stay again!

Lovely but loud
These are the sweetest people and very nice hosts in every way. Our problem was the constantly varying background noise that spoiled our ability to enjoy the genuinely nice landscape. Too close to busy highway, under a small craft flight path to airport, with a train blowing through occasionally… add that to animals and children once in awhile - it just didn’t add up for us. We wanted tranquillity near picturesque rocks… not anybody’s fault, but it was a bunch of sound we didn’t expect.
